Learn how I lost 15 pounds in a fast and healthy way...

Recently I had to lose several pounds really fast. Like, in less than a month! I had a friend's wedding coming up and, after looking at some recent photos taken of me at a party, I realized I needed to make a change. Staring back at me in the photos was a chubby face -- complete with extra "chin fat" -- and a big roll of belly fat protruding from my waist.

Needless to say, I wasn't too happy.

In fact, I was horrified at what I saw. Right then and there I became determined not to show up at the wedding and reception looking so fat, soft, and out-of-shape. Fortunately, with a really good plan and some focused effort, I was able to lose about 15 pounds of body fat in just 3 weeks. Best of all, I was able to lose the weight without starving myself or embarking on some crazy, painful workout regimen.

Below is an outline of the steps I took to lose those 15 lbs in a fast, healthy way.

Note: I patterned my fast fat loss plan around the Truth About Abs program, a very good step-by-step fitness guide anyone can use to burn fat (especially that stubborn "belly fat") quickly while creating a fit, great-looking body at the same time.

The Steps I Took to Lose 15 Pounds Fast

I got focused.

Lack of focus had always slowed down or completely derailed my weight loss progress in the past. This time I wasn't going to make the same mistake. I created a simple goal statement and read it twice daily. I focused on my goal at all times. Losing weight quickly and healthily became an obsession. I believe this focus was the main reason I was able to lose the 15 pounds so quickly.

I boosted my energy levels.

I knew that I would need lots of energy if I was going to lose fat quickly. Therefore I took steps to boost my energy naturally. I started sleeping at least 7 hours each night. I drank lots of pure water. I cut all junk food, simple sugars, and "white" carbs (bread, potatoes, rice, etc.) out of my diet. I hate a healthy breakfast every morning. Finally, I started eating a small, protein-rich meal or snack every 2 to 3 hours throughout the day.

The combination of these steps literally skyrocketed my energy levels and allowed me to do what I needed to do to lose the weight.

I ate a healthy, natural diet.

I ate a simple, healthy, and very natural diet based around lean proteins, high-fiber "good" carbs, and healthy fats. I avoided almost all man-made foods. If it came in a box I didn't eat it. I did allow myself two "cheat" meals during those 3 weeks where I ate anything I wanted. In both cases the choice was pizza! :-)

This type of uncomplicated clean eating was surprisingly easy to stick with. Best of all, since I was eating often throughout the day and avoiding all simple sugars, I never got hungry or experienced any severe food cravings.

I did short and fun workouts.

I hate doing long and painful exercise. I simply can't make myself jog on a treadmill for hours a week. Plus, I know from experience that that kind of long, slow, and boring workout doesn't really burn much fat. Fortunately I was able to find something called Turbulence Training, which is a form of short, higher-intensity, and relatively fun exercise that you can do almost anywhere. It's great for busy people like me since you only need to do 3 of these short (20-30 minute) workouts per week in order to lose pounds quickly.

Besides my Turbulence Training workouts I also took a 10 minute walk first thing in the morning most days. I found doing this really helped to "jumpstart" my day by clearing my mind, boosting my energy, and getting me on the right track mentally.

I took 3 cheap supplements.

The only diet supplements I took during these 3 weeks were whey protein powder, fish oil (omega-3 fats) capsules, and a multivitamin. These proven supplements are relatively inexpensive and I saved money by buying them online at Bodybuilding.com. I don't know if any of the popular "fat burner" pills out there actually work but I've been told that many of them are pretty much just a waste of money.

Well, that's pretty much it! As you can see, losing 15 pounds in 3 weeks really isn't really all that difficult. It just takes some focus, dedication, and a proven plan. If you need to lose some weight quickly, and you don't want to starve or subject yourself to hours of grueling exercise, I highly recommend the steps outlined above.

Good luck!

My Top 7 Tips for Losing Pounds Fast

I was able to lose 15 lbs fast -- in just 3 weeks -- by sticking to the simple rules outlined below. If you need to lose some weight quickly give them a try. They should work for your as well as they did for me!

1. Start off with a challenging but realistic short-term goal.

2. Build momentum quickly by setting and achieving mini-goals every day.

3. Do a 1-day cleanse using a "lemon water" fast and/or an all-raw diet.

4. Do both weight training/strength training and cardio exercise.

5. Keep your exercise fun... don't try to force yourself to do painful/boring workouts!

6. Eat a protein-rich, low-starch diet with some healthy fats included in every "big" meal.

7. Cycle -- or rotate, shift, etc. -- your intake of starches to avoid uncontrollable carb cravings.

Thanks for the fitness tips. I need to lose about 17 pounds to get down to my goal weight. I've been working out alot! Doing both weights and cardio about 4 or 5 times a week. I'm also eating healthier than ever. By the way, I'm looking for a good whey protein powder. Which one do you suggest?

I'm trying to lose 15 pounds myself. So far I've only lost about 3 lbs in 2 weeks. I've been doing just cardio but I'll try the full-body strength training you suggest. Thanks for the tips!
