If you're a fan of fashion, then you might have as well been informed that much of today's fashion was inspired from the clothes from long ago. Our modern fashion sense has been greatly affected by the renaissance dresses in which some people who are not happy with it does not understand its importance.
Dressing well started even from the people in the 16th century. Both men and women, young and old, rich and poor where covered in good clothes that suits on them as shown in old paintings and portraits before that has also depicted their way of life back then. For your information, not all has the same social position, and not all of them has the capability to purchase costly wears. Maintaining a distinct fashion sense is the reason why people before regardless of what status were still capable of wearing becoming outfits. Social status is another factor that affects in dressing up.
Men and women of the renaissance period were famous in dressing up based to their wealth, significance in the society and social rank. Hence, fine cloths and colours where reserved for the rich ones and regulated for the poor ones.
But how does this all come into play?
Can you see around you that almost all of our outfits denotes a mirror of our own social status, intentionally or unintentionally, much more of our fortune? Why is it that business men wear tux and socialites wear cocktail dresses while ordinary men and women are accustomed to the use of shirts and pants?
I guess, if you are intense in observing, then you will know why well off individuals intentionally exhibit their diamond studded earrings and gold plated necklaces to let everybody see? Well for me, that's not a coincidence.
I strongly believe that our fashion in today's world is a mirror of what was then- of what importance was given to people who are or were wealthier than others. It is imaginable that maybe because of the tradition, these clothing look better than ever?
