What You'll Need
For this guide you will need:1. Rubbing alcohol
2. A wet damp rag or paper towel
3. Some common sense
Step 1: Clean The Case
The first step is to clean the case of your Wii so make sure you have the required materials. Be sure you get everywhere including the top, bottom, and faceplate. Doing this makes sure there is no dust on the case so your new wii skin won't peel later on. Make sure you get around the holes like the DVD slot and memory card slots. Step 2: Apply The Skin
Your Wii skin should have come in three distinct pieces: the faceplate, the top, and the bottom. We're going to start with the top. Remove the skin from the paper backing and replace the backing so you leave a slight edge. Now we can make sure the edge lines up correctly. Take your time with this step you don't want to have to keep peeling it off if you don't align it right the first time. Next, apply some pressure and seal the edge off. Fold the skin back and removing the backing and smooth it down over the top. Repeat the above steps for the bottom. When you get to the faceplate make sure you smooth down the edges right around the holes in the decal. And that's it, Congratulations you have a stylish new Wii that you can show off to all your friends. Illustrated on a YouTube video
A "DecalGirl" Wii Skin Installation (Part 1 of 2)
**Due to YouTube video length limitation (grrr), I had to split the video in two parts, sorry for the rude cut at the end of the first part** This is a video of me installing a Wii skin from DecalGirl.com. Before I made my purchase, I was wondering how exactly it was done. For that reason, I decided to film my first experience a this so it can be useful to other people wondering the same. There's no significant cut in the videos so the process does indeed take about 15 minutes for all three pieces (wii + wiimote + nunchuck). I think the result is fabulous, I would recommend them to anybody. With that said, I am in no way related to them... outside from being one of their customer :) So here it goes, I hope somebody will find it useful and feel free to post comments if you feel the need to!
