You Should Have The Heart To Know More About Angina

Do you know what angina is? If you don't, then, you need to have the heart to know more about it because it involves one of the most important organs in your body- your HEART! Many people are ignoring the fact that it's very important to know what angina is, what causes angina, how angina is diagnosed, what to do in order to prevent angina, what to do to get rid of angina, the treatments in angina and many, many more. Learning some of these things, if not all, can help you become aware of how to protect your heart in any which way you can. You should be aware by now that this is the most fundamental organ in our body. Do anything that will stop the heart from functioning and the rest of your body parts will cease to operate. Even our brain, it will begin to cease to operate when the heart begins to malfunction so are the lungs. Patients in the operating room can be considered brain-dead but can still live for a few more minutes or days. But there is not one patient in the E.R. who is considered as heart-dead but still lives, right?

There are many factors that can lead to angina and if you ask me, I will call this factor as the "hamburger factor". I don't intend to offend those who are selling these delicious and tasty and juicy meals. They really are delicious, tasty and juicy and we can't deny that fact. We have to eat them if we must and if we wanted to. Unfortunately, some of the ingredients included in these meals are pretty dangerous when taken in excess. Even though I call this "hamburger factor", it pertains generally to all foods of these types, with lots of cholesterol and fats. Whether it's French fries or hamburger or hotdogs, I include them on the "hamburger factor" list.

So, anyway, as I was saying, these types of foods are dangerous when taken in excess. It's not bad to eat them just as long as you balance your food intake. You eat a hamburger and French fries this minute and you eat your fruits and vegetables during dinner. You need to exercise regularly, meaning, adapt a general lifestyle. You can stil eat all the hamburgers, hot dogs and French fries just as long as you keep yourself health. However, we can't also deny the fact that we can't manage to do all of these things and this is where the problem of angina comes in and it's just one of the problems. Hypertension, diabetes, arthritis are some of the problems associated with unhealthy lifestyle but angina is on top of the list. You take care of your heart, you take care of your whole body. Let us try to find out together more about angina, shall we?

What is Angina?

Angina is a disorder of the heart that causes chest pain. Other problems that can cause chest pain is heart attack or tearing of the aorta. Some of these causes may not require immediate medical attention as some of them may go away in a few seconds by doing deep and rhythmic breathing. However, if you believe that you have heart problems more than just spasm of the esophagus, gallbladder attack or inflammation of the chest wall, the safest thing to do is to go to your doctor immediately. It is very important to have accurate diagnosis from your physician in providing the best treatment to patients with chest pains especially those who are older and have history of heart problems. You can also go for natural supplements for the heart if you want. However, do talk to your doctor about it.

Usually, angina can be felt where there is a decreased supply of blood oxygen to any area of the heart. Some of the symptoms that you can feel if you have angina includes pressure, heaviness, squeezing or tightening of the chest especially behind the breastbone. Then, sometimes, the pain will travel all the way to other areas like the neck, jaw, arms and/or the teeth. When this happens, a person can suffer from profuse sweating, cramping, nausea, weakness and indigestion. There are many causes of angina and one of them is after a heavy meal especially if you have too much of acidic-based foods like the "hamburger factor" and lesser of alkaline-based foods or fiber-rich foods like fruits, vegetables and oats, to name a few.

It is very important that you really should watch what you eat, the amount of food, the way you eat them and the variations of food groups. To help you find out more about the right amount of food groups, you can ask your doctor for a food pyramid chart.

How To Have A Healthy Heart

Now that we know a little something about angina, we also have to know how to prevent this from ever happening. To summarize:

-you need to do daily exercise as suggested by your doctor. You can do jogging, walking or any cardiovascular exercise

-eat more of fruits and vegetables and other fiber-rich foods

-learn how to manage your stress

-learn how to control your temper

-you can also opt for natural supplements that can be good for the heart

-have some adequate hours of sleep and/or rest

-always monitor your blood pressure and cholesterol levels

-don't eat too much salty and fatty foods, go easy on them

-stop smoking

-drink alcoholic beverages in moderation or none at all. If you want, you can drink red wine as it can help you have a healthy heart

-go for freshly-squeezed tomato juice. It contains lycopene which is also good for the heart and a good source of anti-oxidants

-learn to do some breathing exercises. Inhale deeply through the nostrils and exhale deeply through the mouth. Feel the air going all around inside your body as well as your lungs and heart

-do "portion control" of what you are eating. One serving of meat or fish is about the size of the palm of your hand. A serving of fruit is the size of your fist. If you want to eat pasta, the amount should fit in your cupped hand.
