How To Become a Christian

I wrote this lens, because after looking for one, I saw that I couldn't find a lens on how to get saved. I figured there needed to be one, so i decided to write one! I hope if you are reading this lens, then you are saved already, but if you are not, then I hope you keep reading and learn how to get saved! Salvation is free and simple. You just have to admit that you are a sinner, believe that Jesus died for you, and confess your sins to Him, and accept Him as your personal Savior! It's easy! Keep reading.

Are You a Christian?

There are only two answers to this question: yes or no. kinda is not an answer.

Realize God Loves You

This is the first step in the way of Salvation. You have to realize that God loves you. He sent His only Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for us. For the whole world! John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." There is no doubt that the Lord of all creation, loves you!

The Bible Says That All Men Are Sinners

Everyone has sinned. I have, you have... every single person on earth has sinned! Lying, cheating, stealing, cursing... those are just a few. But we are all sinners. No one is perfect. Jesus is the only One Who ever walked on this earth and was perfect. Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." When God created Adam and Eve, He gave them the choice to do right, or to do wrong. That choice is called a free will, and we still have that choice today. We choose to sin. No one makes us. It is our sin that causes the problem. Our sin separates us from God.

God's Word Also Says That Sin Must Be Paid For

There is a price for sin. Just like when you go to work and get wages or a paycheck for what you have done, there are also wages for the sin we have done. The payment for our sins is death and hell. That is what we deserve! If someone continues in their sins and does not repent of them and get saved, then they will spend eternity in hell without God, because of their sins. Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death...."

Here's the Good News!! Christ Paid For Our Sins!

Here is where the good news come in! Though we have a sin debt that we owe, God sent Jesus to die on the cross for us to pay that price! We no longer have to pay it! God knew that of our own merit, we could never pay that price. Nothing could pay that price. Nothing but Jesus' blood! So Jesus went to Calvary and died for us. Jesus took our sins! He died on the cross and was buried, then rose again the third day! Now, He is alive forever, and has paid out debt! Romans 5:8 says, "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us!"

We Must Personally Pray and receive Christ by Faith As Our Savior

The Bible says in Romans 10:13, "For whosoever shall call upon the ame of the Lord shall be saved." It's that easy! Whosoever means anybody! Anyone can get saved! No matter what you have done, God forgives everything! He already paid the debt for us. We just have to accept this free gift. Just realize that God loves you, all men are sinners, sin must be paid for, Christ paid for our sins, and that we must personally pray and receive Christ as our Savior. Then you can pray and receive Him as your Savior!

"Lord, I know that I am a sinner. If i died today I would not go to heaven. Forgive my sin, come into my life and be my Savior. Help me live for You from this day forward. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

You must truly repent of your sins before you can be saved. You must truly believe that you have sinned and that your sin in wrong. It doesn't please God. Once you agree with Him about that, you must repent. Repent means to turn away from. It's like walking one direction and then turning around 180 degrees and going the other way. That is how you should feel about your sin!

If you prayed that prayer in faith, and believing asked Jesus to come into your heart, then you can have complete assurance that your name is written in the Lamb's Book of LIfe in Heaven!
