How To Be Funny

Knowing how to funny is one of those things that comes naturally to some people, yet seem impossible to others. I'm sure you know of someone that can put you in stitches before they've hardly muttered a comment, I know I do (in fact I know several!).

Some people will tell you that it is difficult to be funny, and for many it is. When someone instinctively comes out with a joke do you sometimes look back on the situation, review and think "why didn't I consider saying that"?

Being funny and witty can be a great way to "break the ice" when meeting new people and is also the perfect way to convey yourself as a friendly person that's fun to be around. I know from my personal experience that although I have a number of friends that aren't naturally humorous, I have many that are and it is one of the main reasons why they are so fun to be around.

Being witty and funny isn't necessarily about thinking of a "knock knock" joke that nobody is expecting to hear. Although these types of jokes can be funny some of the best humour occurs on the "spur of the moment" when a witty comment is said when people least expect it. This is known as comic timing and can actually be taught here.

A parody is another way to be funny, but it is important that you know when to make a spoof of or make fun of someone and when not to. I'm sure you've been in situations when a person has made a spoof of someone else and the joke hasn't gone down well! This is why it is essential to know when to make fun of people and who to make fun of.

From a relationship perspective, being funny is often a very attractive trait. For example, ask any woman you know to name the top 5 things they look for in a man and the majority of the time humour will be near the very first things that find attractive. Being able to learn to be funny with women is the perfect way to relax in an otherwise nerve-wracking situation (especially when dating).

Your problem is that you need to learn to be funny so that it comes naturally. Knowing about comic timing, jokes, pranks, and witty storytelling are just a few of the things that ANYONE can be taught.
