How to build social media campaign

Ranked #5,391 in Internet, #276,909 overall

Social media campaign..

It's official: social media has revolutionized how we conduct our business and interact with our customers world wide. Experts agree that these services can provide your business the traffic and exposure it needs to promote itself and the product it offers.

However, it all depends on whether you use social media like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube properly or not.

Social media is about starting conversations online and offline. Users will see a post that is relevant to their interests and will repost or share it with the online community. If the content is good, this continues in real life as users share what they read or saw to friends and family. This results in the viral spread of your post as people share it with their friends and they share it with theirs and so on.

To achieve this, there are three things to remember when using social media.

Keep it Interesting - whenever you're publishing something online make sure that it's something people will care about.

Be Consistent - update your content regularly, whether on a daily or weekly basis. Don't leave your audience hanging or pining for more content or else they'll go look somewhere else.

Stay Relevant - Be sure that the content is about your business and what it has to offer. If your business sells flowers, then your content has to be about flowers, too.

Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube are just a few of the many social networking sites out there in the Internet, but these three dominate over the others. Here's why:

Facebook, you can create a community of users that are interested in your company and what it has to offer them. Once this community is created you can begin promoting to it your company, products, events, and general plans. Advertising helps broaden your community of users of targeted criteria such as geographic region, sex, and age. Getting liked by Facebook users propels your Facebook page to their news feeds and exposes it to their friends.

Twitter allows fast and easy updates regarding your business that can go viral in a matter of seconds. In Twitter, it's all about the conversations that you have with your followers. With the power of the retweet, you can ensure that people will know about your updates first hand and they will be able to share and spread it to their followers, too.

Youtube is about interacting with your customers and audience by posting videos about your company, product offers, and event schedules. It's important that you create videos that share a particular value and level of interaction with the users who will be viewing your video.

However, these social networks can't do the work for you. They can only offer you their services and it's up to you to use these tools and functions to the limit of their potential.

Interaction is vital. This is true for all networking sites, including the aforementioned three, because you want to establish a relationship with your customers and show them that you're there ready and waiting to listen to their inqueries and complaints. It's important because you show to your current and potential customers that you are willing to connect with them.

Invest time. When dealing with social media, you have to set aside time to update your posts and keep your users satisfied with your content. Do not make automated posts because these make you sound boring and impersonal. You need to provide them with relevant, consistent, and interesting content to keep them satisfied.

Learn the rules. Each social networking site has a set of rules and it's important that you know this. By not following the rules you create a negative image for your company and the online community will notice it immediately. Know and follow the rules to make sure that you always attract users to your page and generate interest in your business.

Use landing pages properly by avoiding linking to your home page.
If you share a link from your website, make sure that this leads to relevant information to the page your user visited it from. This shows that you are a resource of information and makes the user comfortable by providing that information easily.
The user doesn't need to look for the relevant information in the site himself since you gave it to him already. Simply, use landing pages to give users what they're looking for.

All in all, to build a social media campaign you need to: keep your posts interesting, consistent and relevant; you have to ensure that you have quality content that does the marketing for you and not the other way around; and you provide your users and customers with the value and interaction they want.
