How to change bad Habits

Up to 98 % of our daily choices are from our sub-conscious, many of our habits come from our programming when we were children. It is common these days to be rude to friends, family and even people we run into during our daily routine. Is this how we really want to treat people. Wouldn't it be a great idea to change our bad habits of not being nice to each person we encounter? These habits are easy to change. Make the decision to start doing something new and build on it. When you get positive results it is easy to see how simple it is to improve any bad habit. Start altering your lifestyle today....

Starting a habit

"I am very happy today"

Let's say that every time you walk through a door way that you say to yourself, "I am very happy today". There doesn't have to be a door there, just make it a priority to say "I am very happy today" every time you walk through a doorway, over what ever it is that you are doing. If you forget to say "I am very happy today" go back and walk through the doorway again and say, "I am very happy today". The point of this is to understand how easy it is to get a new habit started and also to learn how the mind works. Do this all day every day for 5 days straight in a row. This is your priority over anything that you are doing, because it will not affect any of your work. In fact it will make your work easier.

If you are in a situation where you are moving through many doorways during your day this habit will quickly take effect. If you are in a situation where you remain sitting for most of the day you can start with something like. Every time you hear a commercial, a commercial on TV or on the radio, say to yourself, "I am very happy today" You can use what ever you want. Use something to randomly trigger your brain to say "I am very happy today" with out thinking of when you will say it next. This is a sub-conscious exercise. It works better when you are not anticipating when you will say "I am very happy today" next.

Do only the things that make your life better and do not do the things that limit your life.

Repetition

Over & over

When you change bad habits, repeat your new habit over & over & over & over & over...............
The more your new habit gets repeated the quicker it becomes reality

How many bad habits do you have?

Make a list

What bad things are you doing to the people that you care about?
How many things can you write down?
Get a pen and a large piece of paper and write as fast as you can, don't stop or slow down for any reason.
Then make a list of things you can do to stop doing those things that are lowering your Lifestyle...

What are the best habits?

Courtesy, honesty, fairness, fun & adventerous, cleaniness and any other good habit

I know there has been many times where I have treated someone badly, when I didn't have a reason to. Doesn't it make sense to prepare to treat someone with fairness? I can't count the times that I have been treated with dishonesty. I always wonder "Is it really that important to lie to someone to get whatever it is that they want" I am a victim of treating people badly. So, I started studying what is a better way to treat people. I have greatly improved my bad habits of not being nice to my friends, family and even individuals I meet during the day. What differnet ways can I make the world? I can act respectfully to my neighbors and the general public....

    Some habits are harder to break than others, but I agree that making the decision to change and having a positive attitude are the first steps in the right direction.

    Great lens! Bad habits are hard to break but with a positive outlook and some persistence bad habits turn into good ones. :)

    Habits are much easier to start than to break. I think if I had my time over again I would start a new good habit every day so I wouldn't have room for bad habits lol

    I completely agree, bad habits can be erased by integrating new good habits that override the bad habit....
