From the lens Bill Gates' $600 billion challenge: can philantropy change the world?.

Bill Gates did not really approach his activity in the usual way that charities work; he employed one of the most effective business women to conduct the foundation as if it was a business -- to make sure its effectiveness. Of what degree of effectiveness the foundation achieved I do not know as figures are not readily available and I don't believe in official stats anyway. I hope it does the job though. Another smart philanthropist, George Soros, said that information is the most effective tool to change the world into better and education is the only real way to do it. So, there are a lot of scholarships given to students by his foundation. Another philanthropist, an African American businessman, started a prize of 5 million USD to be given yearly to the African President that proved to be honest and transparent during his/her term as President. Up to date, I only know about the President of Botswana, Faestus Mogae who was awarded the prize -- one year I know that no African president qualified -- well, I do not know everything about it, I am not focused on this type of info. I think everything might help a bit. The problems of poverty are difficult to diagnose, they are not simply because of injustice and injustice is not a simple concept to define. Keep well all and help the one poor that you know -- I guess that will do -- until you can help the whole world

help Wikipedia and help kids get information in any way you can but don't expect to see the effects too soon Well, in my first language the saying goes : little by little is the vinegar getting done. So, no matter how little one can help, it is better than no help at all.

There's a lot of billionaires in the world. If each would donate $1M it can help a lot of people. $1M is not that much for them.

Poverty will need to be systematically addressed forever. We cannot ever turn our back on it.

There will have to be some fundamental changes in how we think. I don't believe poverty can be completely eradicated. But I do believe that our current situation, in which so much of the world resources are funneled to a few people at the top MUST change and WILL change. It can change with love and generosity, or it can change through violence. I vote for love. This lens is important, and perhaps it can spread some love - so I am giving it an April Fools Squid Angel Tour blessing.
