When it comes down to choose a home based business opportunity as a internet marketing newbie, will you consider which is more important for the future of your home business career - Compensation plans or Product? The answer, most of the time sadly is NO.

Why you asked? When new entrepreneurs look for an opportunity, they focus on how to make more money from home than their current job as well as able to spend more time with their family. So as soon as they land on the "beautifully written" sales page promise you will make a fortune online with this company X, you mind will start playing tricks on you, maybe you don't realize. Next thing you want to find out is how much money can this company make me if I join? Then the compensation plans comes in to play. Right now, all you can see is how much $200, $500, $997 or $1497 you could make if you join that company. And the compensation plans tell you that you can make Infinity of $1000 of your life time, you will be thinking - This is crazy!!.

Skepticism will lead you continuing reading the rest of the sales page, but at the mean time all you can think of is if only you can make 1 or 2 of that $1000 commission of each sale per week, you and your family's life can change drastically. Up to this point, most likely without having any "bad experience" in this industry, you wouldn't consider how solid the product is that you are going to promo for this company, and this fatal mistake that you made will lead to a very sad ending of your home business career....

When I was a newbie came across my 1st home based business opportunity 9 months ago, I admit that those Flash videos of how many $997/$497/$200 etc played a very "important part" of getting me to sign up with that company (well done to them) which drove me crazy at the moment, I was so excited, had no idea what I would be promoting and how I would be promoting this opportunity, which of course, lead to one common consequence of brand new entrepreneurs - FAILURE.

I am not going into details of how bad I've failed and what I've been through here. Maybe you still don't understand why the product is the overlooked secret.....

Ask yourself today, if you are the customer land on your own website(selling product X) will you pay (whatever amount your product is) to Buy your product??

Can your product benefit your buyers future on a day to day basis??

People might like discount on cruise, resorts, even collecting Ebooks/software??? Would you pay 1500 for ebooks/softwares? 2000 for cruise/resorts discount vouchers?

But how many people would actually prefer a product can help them save money from Government every single year for years to come?? Even though they are not interested in promoting this product, they can still benefit from their Money spend.

Everybody is saying the program is making them millions, who knows deep down how many entrepreneurs are actually having instant noodles for days?(yes, been there, done that.)

Why people don't join your program though your compensation plan is Amazing?

People will start giving up after weeks, months (even though that's not the correct mindset, ha ha.), and start questioning owners of their company with questions like " You promised me I don't need to sell, I don't need to cold calling others, I will make $100,000 in 100 days, which is today, Not only I made zero money with your system but spent a ton on advertising with No Return......" I bet lots of you heard this kind of story before, that's why stats show 97% of home based business owners will FAIL, miserably.

At the end of the day, people only want solutions to their problems. Hints someone might think global resorts network vouchers are useful to them, or tons of ebooks, softwares will benefit them, or cruise ship discount etc. But you have to let your prospect know why your product can help them and benefit them in the future.

Compensation Plans is a Bonus, and Product is the fundamental of your home based business. Why? You may ask again... Companies can easily copy others' compensation plans, but product is the Key to separate a Good Opportunity and a Fluff Opportunity.

Maybe some of you must be thinking What do you know!!?? My product is solid as rock, I think this is the best in the market!"

"Ha ha, What an Idiot!" You said. Yes, Maybe I was, an naive 23 years old kid wanna make a living online, "beautiful" sales page "convinced" me to make hundred and thousands of dollars with ease. Who knows, if you want a Change in Life real bad like I was, at the beginning you would Try to make it happen.

I wish someone would tell me the Importance of having a good product. But hey, there will be a learning curve for everything new to you, right? I treat that $8000 as my "Home Base Business University Tuition Fees", products that I have in return with my $8000 are bunch of ebooks and softwares from EDC and other affiliate websites.
