How to Cope Up With Your Depression?
Depression primarily is one of the major problems in our society right now. It is a state of low mood and dislike to activity. According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, a depressed person experiences the feelings of sadness, helplessness and hopelessness. This problem cuts across all barriers and affects all races, cultures and social classes. It is not mutually exclusive to a certain group or sector in our society. Are there ways to cope up with this kind of sickness on your own? What are the helpful ways to do it?

How to Cope Up With Your Depression?
#1 Acknowledge the Problem
If you are feeling sad and hopeless, try to recognize the reasons behind. Sometimes the feeling of "depressed" is often synonymous with feeling "sad". It is therefore very important to identify the cause/s of that feeling. Depression occurs in various grades and symptoms are likely to vary in intensity. You may feel slightly depressed because you were fired in your job, break up of romantic relationship or divorce. It can also be loss of parents, sibling, and job anxiety. These kinds of problems may present with feelings of sadness, sleeping problems, irritability, being easily annoyed and always feeling tired. However, these occurrences can be mitigated. It can be overcome as time passes by and also with a prescribed therapy.
Another type is what we call mild depression which actually starts gradually for no reason at all. The symptoms for this type are that the individual starts to feel tired, restless, and lonely and has difficulty sleeping. Usually this problem occurs in work- related issues. They do not enjoy their jobs anymore. However, mild depression can be solved through time, changes in lifestyle, psychotherapy and moral and social support.
The worst type of depression is the severe one which can incite a feeling of suicide. This is a constant feeling of sadness. The person cries for no apparent reason, he or she has trouble sleeping and focusing, easily gets tired, feels worthless or unimportant and has physical constraints. The cause/s of severe depression can be related to the environment such as job-related issues, coping up with some problems in life like financial problems or loss of loved ones. Yet again, this problem can easily be mitigated by some helpful medical help and support from loved ones and friends.
#2 Think Positive All the Time
When you already recognize the problem, try to be positive in thinking. You can always control yourself. You always have a say to what you should think and feel. Try to accept the possible solutions for your depression. Do not let any negative vibrations come your way. You might feel the loss and the intensity of the feelings but always remember that there are people who are willing to help you all the time. If you are afraid and you feel not secured, then try to talk to important people in your life like your family. Communication is one of the essential ways to cope up with your depression.
#3 Keep Away All Harmful Objects
There is a possibility that you might inflict harm to yourself because you are overwhelmed with your emotions. Studies have shown that there is a higher risk that these types of people are inclined to hurt themselves. So, the first thing you should do is to hide all the weapons that might hurt you like a knife, guns, shock guns and things like that. These can seriously hurt you if you use it to yourself. The STUN GUN effects can surely hit you down. Though it is non-lethal, it can incapacitate you for quite a time. The idea of protection is to prevent you from harmful and unprecedented risks.
