How to create an online poster for your band!

because your fans deserve it!

Do you have a band? Do you play frequent gigs? Then you need an online poster.

I'm Bonnie, your Giant Squid Organizer here on Squidoo and I'm going to teach you how to create a rockin' online poster for your band in less then 15 minutes. Because you know what? The mimeograph machine is dead (and it smelled), the Xerox machine is not green and the only way to connect with your fans in 2010 is online. It's easy, it's stylish and it's free.

Join the movement...create an online poster...be green, be seen...your fans will thank you.

Here's the short list of what you need.

See I told you it was easy!

  1. An account with Squidoo. It takes 10 seconds to sign up for Squidoo. They are great a company that cares about their uses AND you can even earn a royalty from the web pages (lenses) that you build for yourself or charity. Read all about it.
  2. The website where you are playing your gig. Most places are online. Give your fans a direct link.
  3. A photo of your band. Show off your faces and whatever else you'd like. Just keep it clean, this is live on the web. Your mom will see this!
  4. The link to your YouTube performance. I know you've got one, otherwise you wouldn't have a gig! See I know what I'm talking about.
  5. The date, time and place where your gig is taking place. Details rock.
  6. Do you have an album (I'm 40 I still call them albums) on Amazon? If so link to it. You'll make a royalty from Squidoo if people buy it. No album? What about iTunes? See I am hip!
  7. 7) About 20 minutes to explore Squidoo. I know that you're computer savvy, Squidoo is super simple to use. You're basically putting together modules like building blocks. There are actually hundreds of modules but you only need about 5 to create a kick butt online poster...but if you want more have at it. The sky is truly the limit.
  8. Did I mention Squidoo is FREE? You can in fact create a band poster for every single gig you do, and it's still free.
  9. Share the heck out of this poster! You can Tweet and link to Facebook right from this page. You can also e-mail the page to everyone you know because of course they'll want to come to your gig.
  10. There has to be a #10 right? If you have any questions about creating one of these awesome online band posters just e-mail me at bonnie@squidoo.com.

So what's next?

See this Big Black Box got your attention! Below you'll see a sample of the modules that will contain the information your just gathered. For teaching purposes I'm using the Red Hot Chili Peppers because Anthony Kiedis is just plain cool.

You can also use this black box for the who, what, where and when of your gigs. It also comes in a few other colors.

Use the Link List Module for a website.

Show off your band AND the place you're playing.

Thanks for the kind words. Not sure what's going on with the people telling you to stay away from informational niches, ALL my niches are information based. I have no product based sites that I'm earning with. Maybe these people were never earning and might not have things set up right? Not sure what to think of that kind of logic. If it has a high CPC and high volume of traffic with a lot of ads I can't imagine you won't earn. Maybe stay away from gambling and other niches that might eventually be banned/go down the tubes
    I hope that helps?
ts my first ever visit on this site??good information being shared here..
    thanks once again.

Cool idea to make a poster lens. This just might come in handy for some of Kevin Skinner's concerts. Glad that I stopped by to check this out, thanks Bonnie!!!
