I don't know. I've got a bad knee and I can't even imagine trying to play a physically demanding sport with it. I guess if the pain went away and stayed away for a decent amount of time, I would give it a shot.
Conservative Treatment to Cure Jumper's Knee
- Rest. I don't mean becoming a couch potato; continue exercising and stretching, but avoiding running and jumping.
- Use a Patellar Tendon Strap. It will help you distribute the force away from your tendon, relieving pain
- Going to a Physical Therapist. He can recommend you how to strenghten the muscles around the patellar tendon.

- my patellar tendonitis seems to be going away with stretching, ice, and rest. i am an avid soccer player and would love to be on the field as often and as soon as possible. this speed bump will not end my soccer career :) i reccommend physical therapy and constant stretching. dont jump back in too soon or you might injure yourself more.

- Jumper's knee as the name suggests is more likely to occur in sports like long jumping. In addition, long and middle distance running as well as bounding and hopping activities on a chronic basis can cause it. Basically, the pathology involves inflammation of the tendon of the rectus femoris.

- Cure of tendon injuries is essentially practical. Using non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications coupled with Physical Therapy, rest, orthotics or braces, and moderate return to workout is a common therapy.
An acronym used to list the remedial treatments in fixing tendinitis is ìRICEî: Rest, Ice, Compress, and Elevate.
Resting assists in the prevention of further injury to the tendon.
Ice is effective at soothing pain, restricting too much swelling, and stimulating blood circulation after the fact.
Compression and elevation both perform similarly to ice in their ability to restrict excessive, unnecessary inflammation.
Initial recovery is commonly within 2 to 3 days and full recuperation is within 4 to 6 week. Visit my site to learn more about tendonitis treatment http://tendlite.com
