How to Delete Someone's Windows Password Tips and Tricks

The following steps assume you have no access to the computer itself by any account visible for you at this point. If you have an other account available, the process can be shorter. In this case you can use a different account with administrator rights to change the password of the other user using a simple command. If this is the case, just open the start menu and type "cmd" in the search bar and press enter. This will open a dos window. type "NET USER [username of the lost account] [new password]" and it should change the password. If not, read on.

Method 1

1. Read all steps before doing anything.
2. First log into your computer in safe mode. This can usually be done by pressing F8 while booting. If this doesn't work, just turn your PC off while Vista is loading and next time you boot it up it 'll say windows terminated in a bad way and you will be able to select safe mode (this may damage your PC).
3. When logging on into safe mode you should be able to choose the administrator account, usually it won 't be password protected, if it is then skip the next step and read on.
4. If you logged on with the administrator account you can just go to configuration panel and change the password of other accounts.
* If the administrator account is password protected you won 't be able to log in. In this case you will really need to hack the password.
5. Make a Linux LiveCD preferably using Ubuntu 32-bit(unless you are sure you have a 64-bit processor)(it's the most user friendly Linux version)
6. Install a program called PWDUMP3 and use it to dump the NTLM hashes (NTML is the sort of encryption that windows used to protect user passwords)
7. Next you need to crack the password out of the file, to do this a second PC with a good graphics card is recommended so you can use elcomsoft's distributed password recovery tool (it used the graphics card to do the math behind the de-coding of the NTML hash faster). There is a free trial available but it only works up to 4 characters, do not register this program with a serial you find on the internet since this is illegal. You can always use another tool called john the ripper to crack the passwords, in this case i suggest u read the manual. You can also use John with ubuntu if you don 't have another computer to run the cracking process on.
8. Depending on the length of your password the cracking process will take a great amount of time or not.
9. If all else fails use the Ubuntu live-cd to back up your files, and reinstall vista. If you didn't get a vista DVD when purchasing the computer go back to your supplier and complain.

Method 2

Use a Windows Password reset disk.

1. Use Windows Password Rescuer to create a password recovery disk.
2. Download and install the program on another computer you have access to and run it to burn the program to a CD/USB drive.
3. BIOS Setting: Press F2 immediately when you start/restart your computer to get in BIOS Setup, set your locked computer boot from CD/USB.
4. Insert password recovery disk you have just created to the locked PC, boot the PC from it.
5. Follow the operation guide to reset password by a few clicks.

Tips

* If you retrieve the password of a computer that isn't yours but got permission to, make sure you get a written permission to avoid legal issues.
* Think before you act, because you don't need to get in trouble for hacking

* Doing the cracking process on another PC that isn't yours might not be wise as it will display your password so other people will know it.
