There are a number of reasons for dog behavior problem, depending on the breed and needs of the dog. One of the most common reasons of dog's misbehavior is separation from their family at a very small age.

Dog behavior problems should be detected as soon as puppy is separated from her mother and you should try to differentiate between puppy's innocent nipping and chewing from from situations when it becomes ugly habit. It's not said that you should not play or enjoy your puppy but still keep eye on possible tendencies that can develop in more serious problem later on.

It is very important to start training as soon as a pappy is born to avoid any kind of dog behavior problem. If you do not train your puppy properly, you will soon have a dog with abnormal behavior that will not only be more difficult to train, but whose loving little nips become harmful bites. Even that they are still cute, biting puppies are not fun to have around you. Specially when you know that this is just beginning. Be strong and stop puppy biting.

Weather you have a new puppy or dog, you should recognise dog behavior problem that your new pet may have. What are some causes of dog behavior problems? Stop dog whining

There is very good and well known point that calm people often don't have a serious dog behavior problem like some people do--just by virtue of that they don't have all the craziness, yelling and people and kids screaming making their dogs bonkers and neurotic. To eliminate dog's bad habits you have to stop rewarding him for certain behavior, and teach him what behavior you 'DO' want instead. Punishment will not stop it. Only way to stop puppy biting is with intense training. Most experienced dog owners are familiar with common dog behavior problems, but some may wonder why dogs show these behaviors.

One possible solution to avoid these problems is exercise. It is known that many dog behavior problems are because of physical challenges that the dog may have. Also, learning how to communicate with your dog lets you address problems as they occur. Even they don't speak you can learn to understand some signs that dogs use to tell you what they want. The home provides ideal environment for the dog with few distractions, which is chance for new member to learn how to get along with other members in the family. Often dogs are behaving distructable because of boredom. Specially if they live in the apartments and are left alone most of the day.

The first step in dealing with new situation is to understand why your dog acts the way he does. My favorite method for curing dog behavior problem is to discover what the core or root of the problem is. Now why would you allow a dog to dominate you, when the child couldn't't? If your children were dominant over you, that would not be appropriate, and neither is a dog with dog behavior problem. Dominance is very important to be established in order to start the process of changing the pattern of dog behavioral problems. Obedience training can solve most problems, especially if done in early stage.

10 Things a Dog asks of its people

They don't speak but still they say...

Even they can't speak, like us, dogs have their needs and desires. If you don't know them, this might help you understand them better;

10 Things a Dog asks of its people:

1. My life is likely to last 10 to 15 years. Any separation from you will be painful for me. Remember that before you buy me.

2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.

3. Place your trust in me - it's crucial for my well being.

4. Don't be angry at me for long, and don't lock me up as a punishment. You have your work, your entertainment and your friends. I have only you.

5. Talk to me sometimes . Even if I don't understand your words, I understand ton of your voice when it's speaking to me.

6. Be aware that however you treat me, I'll never forget it.

7. Remember before you hit me that I have teeth that could easily crush the bones of your hand but that I choose not to bite you.

8. Before you scold me for being "uncooperative", "obstinate" or "lazy", ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I am not getting the right food, or I've been out in the sun too long, or mu hard is getting old and weak.

9. Take care of me when I get old; you too will grow old.

10. Go with me on difficult journeys. Never say: "I can't bear to watch it", or "Let it happen in my absence". Everything is easier for me if you are there.

Do Something To Stop Puppy Biting

If the puppy is less then 4 months old

Even though you have to stop puppy biting there is one thing you have to keep in your mind. If your dog is less than 15 weeks old and nips and bites non-stop, this is most of the time, normal behavior. Puppies mouth while playing and they mouth when communicating with us. If your dog begins mouthing, he may be hungry or thirsty. Ask yourself: Does he need to remove waste? Is he tired? Maybe he wants to play? Dogs nip when they want to show some needs - like when a baby cries. It shouldn't be treated as dog behavior problem. There are some guidelines than can assist you when trying to control or stop puppy biting:

1. If your dog does not want anything and he still will not stop, isolate him with a favorite toy. To stop puppy biting you do not have to punish your dog. Calmly place the puppy in her area.

2. Don't make any reaction when your dog nips quietly. Keep your hand still because if you remove your hand quickly it can be understood as an invitation to play and nip harder. Stay calm and this will stop puppy biting.

3. Try to keep puppy occupied as much as possible with any thing in your house, other than your hands. Give him his favorite toy, fake bone, plastic ball etc. Spend lots of time playing with puppy, but try to keep your hands away from his mouth.

4. When your dog starts biting down hard, turn quickly, say: "No, No!" and glance into her eyes for few seconds; then go back to your normal routine. If he continues, put a leash onto your dog so that you can tug the lead sharply to the side and place him in a quiet location to cool off. Goal is to stop puppy biting by making him realize that teeth can nip or bite only his toys.

Stop Puppy Biting Before It's Too Late

You have dog behavior problem after fifth month

To stop puppy biting could become challenge so if you have a puppy that continues to nip when more than 4 months old, you shouldn't' wait any longer to prevent this dog behavior problem. Even though the nipping will continue, make it clear that it is inappropriate. If you don't know how to stop puppy biting here are some tip to help you:

1.Try to stay away from all challenge games such as wrestling, tug-of-war, chasing, and teasing because you're sending him the wrong message. These games teach dogs to react down hard on any object - a leash, the coffee table, your clothing, or even your skin and than it is not game anymore.

2. Discourage all forms of nipping, whether it's a bite on your arm or a nibble on your finger. Dog teeth do not belong on human skin. The sooner pappy accepts it the better it will be for you.

3. If the habit becomes more and more frequent treat it as dog behavior problem. One possible solution to stop puppy biting could be to buy certain items to use in defense, such as Mouth Spray or Bitter Apple spray, Never look down at your dog while you spray him; this will turn an unpleasant result into a confrontational interaction.

4. Sometimes, when you notice that puppy is too exited, try to leave your dog leashed so you have something to direct him with and can avoid physical confrontation. If your puppy's not wearing the leash, and in the house it's usually the case, try to grab him onto his buckle collar and take him to quite place to calm down.

5. When you dog begin to mouth, turn to him, use a lead or collar to snap him head from, or spray the region he is nipping with a Mouth spray. Do not stare at him; because he will identify your actions as confrontational play.

6. If you still can't stop puppy biting, ask yourself: Am I doing it right? Am I encouraging this kind of play? Is my puppy taking me seriously? As a result, you have to intensify training before you earn your dog's respect.

7. Not getting your massage threw should be sign that something is wrong. You must stop puppy biting before it becomes habit otherwise you will have serious problems later on. At this stage you have to consult your vet.
