Drawing Goat Demon

The beginning steps are the key point in any drawing and when starting off drawing your Goat Demon the initial layout of your creature is the essential way of progressing with any drawing. In the drawing video you'll see in a minute I used primarily a 5B pencil to sketch out the whole thing and by sketching I mean exploring the ways to get the drawing done first and the only really good way of doing this is actually diving right into drawing, of course you can practice on a separate sheet of paper first, but the idea is to try and challenge yourself as an artist and just throw yourself into the deep end and just draw!

As you'll find out in the video there were a few design changes that occured as the drawing advances like the Pentagram changes from a straight lined Pentagram to a blood drip shaped Pentagram and that's natural with any drawing that you may do. Always look at the pencil drawing and see what would look better when you come to ink the drawing later on.

When doing ink work, lately I've been using cheap gel ink pens which seem to do the trick of inking in a drawing quite quickly and the end result looks professional too and plus it's saved me money by buying these super affordable ink pens too. The inking process is not just about simply going over every pencil line you have drawn, instead it's about adding more depth and improving the drawing further, try different line weights and utilize cross hatching and other inking techniques to separate different textures on your drawing.

Once you've inked the whole drawing you can then rub out the graphite from the underneath pencil drawing so that the drawing is ready to be colored with whatever art markers you choose.

The coloring stage is the fun stage and although it is wise to plan out what colors to use first and have a strong idea of the dark and light colors, sometimes it's just as fun to make it up as you go alon. Now, I used the super affordable Crayola Supertip art markers from Crayola which with most of the colors you can blend quite nicely and the colors look vibrant and strong. In the art video I attempt to relay some coloring tips along the way, particularly with coloring in flames to which the process is quite simple, just remeber that tone within tone can work wonders and provide you with a complete piece of art that has depth to it.

Please don't feel limited in any way by using supertips from Crayola, you can use any other felt tips, colored pencils or anything you feel comfortable with.
