How To Draw An Anime Leprechaun

Ranked #6,957 in Arts & Design, #119,909 overall

Draw a cartoon Leprechaun with this easy to follow step-by-step tutorial.

This lesson will help you learn how to draw a cartoon leprechaun! The original Irish name for Leprechauns is lobaircin, meaning small-bodied fellow. Leprechauns are a class of "faerie folk" associated in Irish mythology and folklore. A popular belief is that if you find the end of a rainbow you will find a Leprechaun with his pot of gold.

This tutorial will show you step-by-step how to draw a picture of a Leprechaun in the Powerpuff Girls style. We will be using simple shapes so even the most novice artist will be able to achieve expert results.

This tutorial differs from my usual step-by-step drawing tutorials. In this tutorial I took a character that most people already know and love and changed it up making a new character yet keeping the style and feel of the original.

How To Draw A Leprechaun #1

Start with drawing a large oval for your leprechaun's head. Next draw a square below his head for his body. The square should start slightly above the bottom of the head and be about half the heads height.

How To Draw A Leprechaun #2

For his eyes draw two large ovals. They should be big enough to touch the sides of his head but not quite meet in the middle.
The mouth is a curved line below the eyes formed to a smile.

How To Draw A Leprechaun #3

To draw your leprechaun's top hat start with a curved line across his forehead. The line should just cover the top of his eyes. Above it draw another line following the same curve. Connect them at the ends with a straight line angling outwards. For the crown of his hat draw a couple horizontal lines slightly in from the ends of the brim. The taller you want the hat the less of an angle you will want to draw crown as you don't want it to look like a witch's hat. Add a hatband and buckle to his hat.

How To Draw A Leprechaun #4

Your leprechaun's legs are quite simple the left leg shows only his foot and is just an oval. For the right leg draw a couple straight lines about the length of the body connect them at the bottom with a semicircle.

How To Draw A Leprechaun #5

The arms are drawn like a small letter "L" written in cursive. Center the L between your leprechaun's head and his body.

How To Draw A Leprechaun #6

Add the details to your leprechaun, clothing, eyes, shoes, ECT.

How To Draw A Leprechaun #7

Use a felt-tip pen to outline your drawing. Now you can erase any stray pencil lines - and color your leprechaun with a lot of green!

Pictionary

Pictionary

Pictionary deserves to go down as one of the all time great board games. It has appeal for both young and old. No matter what your level of drawing skill is, you can enjoy this game, granted that a talented drawer may have the slightest of edges. Overall it's a great game that is heaps of fun and educational for younger players as it introduces new words to them. Highly recommended. Ready, set.......go!
