How to be a Good Consumer with Laser Work!!!

Being good consumers, we check into every major purchases before we spend the money on it. We don't worry about the lesser ones so much. We go to fast food places without a second thought. We will go and buy a couch without a second thought. But, for the bigger purchases like cars that we buy, men (mostly) you will ask all your hot-rod buddies what they think of that new vehicle you're looking to by. You would never think of just going out and buying it. Woman, you will ask your girlfriend what her opinions on an ob/gyn are that you are looking at going to. You don't just buy a car or to the doctors. We, as a society, tend to check them out, you know you do! So why would you want to do anything less than that when you're going to go to someone for laser hair removal, especially if it's going to be in the most private of place? The following are things for you to consider and suggestions of points that you will want to consider when going to a laser specialist.

It's nothing personal...

It's just business...REMEMBER THAT!!!

Things you need to know and find out!!!

There are many things that you need to look at and consider when you're going for your first laser hair removal. There are also many things that you can do to prep for your first laser removal session. Avoid the running around at first. Sit down at your computer and go online and see if they have a website. You can tell a lot about a company by their website and IF they don't have one. If they don't have one the first question and thought should be, "how long have they been in business?", probably not long, if they don't have a web pages, so it's not something that you want to leave to the inexperienced. Second, if the web page is messy, hard to navigate and lacks information and testimonies, it's probably not going to be the best place for you to be going for laser. This is one area that you definitely don't want to skimp.

How Much is...

Your safety worth???

More things to know, find out and ask about!!!

Next, ask questions lots of questions, both in person and on the phone. The more you ask, the better information you have to make a sound decision. The following are some of the questions that you'll want to ask: What will the procedure be like? How long it will take? How many have they done? What brands and types of lasers that there office uses? How much experience do they have in used them? These questions may sound similar, but they are not. If it's a new laser, yes it'll be 'sharp', but you want to make sure that the technician has plenty of experience using that particular type of laser. This is one area where you don't want to be the guinea pig. When you're dealing with personal places, the last thing you want is to have someone with new equipment and hardly any experience going "there". And you certainly don't want to have damage or scaring, because of any inadequate work done.

Before you set an appoint, check with the Better Business Bureau. That particular clinic may have been reported. If so, it's something that you need to know, and you're not going to want to take the risk. Find out how busy there office is. There's a couple things with opposite potentials going on here. One is, if they're extremely busy, they may run the place like cattle. Quick-in, quick-out. With this possibility, you may not get the attention to 'detail' that there should be. If so, you may not get the best service that you need and want. The reverse is also true. If the clinic has to few people coming in, then you want to consider why that is. They may lack experience, have many complaints against them or be new in the field. Find out if the clinic you're looking at will give a free consultation. If they wont, it's possible, that they're in it just for the money and have something to hide. After you've set your appointment and go in, there's more questions that need to be asked.

“Remember...You are the best, and you deserve the best!!! Don't settle for less!!!”

Laser work is Technically a Medical Procedure!!!

You may not know this, but laser work is technically a medical procedure, so there are things that you need to confirm before you go to them. For example, while you are there, who is the Medical director? What qualifications does he or she have? If they are under qualified and have no experience, or have information out about them on the web is less than favorable. then that should be a red flag. You want, deserve and need the best, so don't settle for less. What is the name of the doctor that will be doing the work on you? When you do a walk through of the facility, make sure it is clean and find out how they serialize their equipment. Again your safety is of concern here, NOT their egos!!! Insist on meeting the person that will be doing your procedure!!! You have a right to know who they are and also what their qualifications are! If at any point, you don't get the 'warm fuzzies', leave, and go to the next one. Laser work isn't something to play around with, it can damage and scar you!!!

Questions, Questions and MORE QUESTIONS!!!

Lots of ground work needs to be done! Like: getting referrals that you can call for the procedure that you want to have. It will do you no good if you get referrals for a procedure that you're not having. It again goes to credibility and experience. You want those working on you to have both. Because this is a medical procedure, you're going to want to find out what risks there are involved. Don't fool yourself, there are risk!!! Every medical procedure has them, the question is:what are they? If they don't want to tell you, that's a red flag, and consider that this may not be the clinic for you. Also find out any and all side effects that may be involved! Are there any precautions that you need to know about? How many sessions will it take in order to get the results that you are looking for? It may be one, but then again it may be 5 or 6. Then there's the cost involved. One session may not be bad, but if it's going to be on the high end may be (5 or 6 sessions) at 150.00, are you going to want to make that commitment? Depending on the equipment, area of work and the type of laser being used, you may need many appointments not just one. You need to ask about this, because often, they wont volunteer any information. Also, your procedure may be uncomfortable, if not painful. You need and deserve to know this before you go in!!! It's all part of the information that you need and deserve to know. Also, how long will your particular procedure take? Can you do it on a lunch break, or will you need to leave work early? Something that you need to know form the outset, not after you've had one, is will they accept insurance? Are there co-pays? If so, how much will the co-pay be? If, like most of us, you have a busy schedule, find out what the the clinics hours are. Find out what, if any consequences there may be for any missed or late appointments. Again, different offices have different policies and you need and have a right to know!!!

What to do when...

your free consultation is over!

Once you're consultation is done, leave and think about all the information that you've just be given, it's a lot to take in. Don't be afraid to take notes. Most people forget what they want to ask, and then forget what they've been told. You don't want to have to go back again, or call again. Ask ask ask!!! No questions is silly, and no information is to much. You ask what you need to ask and remember, Trust YOURSELF!!! If you don't get the warm fuzzies, don't go back. You don't want to have the old adage come back that says, "if I knew then, what I know now". It's not worth the risk to you!!! And your what's most important.

Why do hair growth follicles trade off as we age? I suppose the follicles that have been producing the hair while we were young get tired, and the follicles that have not been producing it take over in later years. So we go bald while growing hair in odd places. I'm looking forward to youth!
