Searching for the Truth

So you've decided to visit an online psychic, either for a deeply serious problem or just a feeling that you want to touch base with the unseen world. There are millions of people advertising psychic services of various kinds. How do you find the one -- or ones -- who are right for you, and more important, how can you find a real online psychic?

How do Psychics Work

Before you begin your search, it helps to know a little about how psychics work. Psychics obtain information which may help others through extrasensory perception, or ESP. There are many types of ESP phenomena, but most consulting psychics rely on clairvoyance, telepathy, precognition and mediumship -- communication with the spirit world. Everyone has these gifts, but a psychic has practiced to develop them, just like practicing a musical instrument.

Begin looking for an online psychic the same way you would look for the provider of any other service. If your friends use online psychic services, ask them who is the best and what a session with their favorite psychic is like.

Is the Psychic Accessing your Energy

You probably won't want to consult the same psychic your friends do, in case they have spoken about you during a session. You want the information coming from a psychic to be the result of actual extrasensory communication, not conversations with other clients. The psychic might not even remember these conversations. She might believe she is getting the information telepathically rather than from memory.

She might use tarot cards, angel cards or rune stones. If she asks for your birth date and time, she is probably using your astrological birth and rising signs as references. All are legitimate methods which have been used by psychics for centuries. A psychic may also channel advice from angels or relay messages from your loved ones in the afterlife.

Interview the Psychic

Most psychic services offer the first three to five minutes free, so you can ask a few questions and conduct a sort of mini-interview. Trust your instincts. If a psychic "feels" okay to you, go with her.

Online psychics operate on the principle that ESP is not limited by physical proximity. An advantage of sessions with an online psychic is that there is more of a chance she is not cold reading you, that is, picking up cues from your voice, body language or eye reflexes instead of truly making spiritual contact. People pick up these cues without even realizing it and psychics are no exception. You want the psychic to be genuinely on your "frequency". Chat sessions without webcam are ideal.

Test Psychic Ability

Another good practice is not to reveal too much information yourself, but allow the psychic to tell you what she is sensing. Suppose, for instance, the psychic says "There is a man who is concerned about you, his name is Sam" and this is your father's name. Don't reveal this right away, but say "I would like to hear more about him". The psychic may give you information about the living as well as those who have passed on.

Pay Attention

Pay close attention to what the psychic tells you. Take notes, or log your session if you can, and read it carefully afterward. Make your own decisions without talking to anyone else. Did she give you accurate information without having to ask many questions first? How do you feel about the psychic and about what you've heard?

It may take several sessions before you are certain the psychic you are consulting is the right one for you. Again, it's important to take your time and trust what you feel. A good psychic will tell you that predictions of the future only reflect tendencies that can be changed. Your choices and decisions always take precedence.
