How to Fix Activex Problem on Your PC

ActiveX is Microsoft technology used for developing reusable object oriented software components. It was developed by combining OLE (Object Linking and Embedding) and COM (the Component Object Model). ActiveX is most commonly known from ActiveX controls, which are software plug-ins that are also used with the Internet Explorer. These ActiveX controls can be compared with Java components, with the limitation that ActiveX only runs on the Microsoft operating systems. Common programs such as Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office, and even Window's Media Player use the ActiveX program to function properly.

Although ActiveX can offer very nice and useful functionality to the end user, it can also be a cause for problems. These are often critical Windows errors caused by a corrupt registry entry. System registry gets damaged due to failed installations, incomplete un-installations, disabled drivers, bad programming, an incompatible operating environment or conflicts with other installed software etc.

Left click on the start button.
Click on Run.
Click OK twice when the Run bar comes up enter regsvr32 msxml3.dll.
Close all the windows and then open them again.
At this point, the error should be resolved.

As we all know though, sometimes it takes more than a simple solution to fix a problem. The best way to solve Activex errors is to ensure that the Windows registry is always clean. As you know, the registry is a very complicated directory that editing it blindly will most likely result in more PC problems. Realize that you should not do this if you don't understand the code.
