AdventureQuest Worlds Badges

Ranked #460 in Games, #12,505 overall | Donates to Squidoo Charity Fund

Achievements for your AQW character page.

AdventureQuest Worlds (AQW) has two types of badges. The ones in the Book of Lore chronicle a character's progress through the main story line of the game and includes other types of badges. But the achievement badges on an AQW character page are public. Anyone can see them. So of course they're a source of bragging rights.

This page will help players get some of the more common badges and explain others. There are also brief walk-throughs to help players get some of the tougher badges.

AdventureQuest Worlds is an MMORPG. It is flash-based so no special downloads are needed to play the game.

1: AdventureQuest Worlds Character Page

AQW Desoloth Freed BadgeThe AQW character page lists many different achievements. On this page are the bragging rights of the player: level, badges, armors and ranks, rare items, houses, and house items. Competitive and curious players check out each other's character pages because they want to know how they're doing compared to others, what is the name of the armor/ weapon/ pet the character has equipped, and generally who is a "better" player.

Badges are the focus point of the character page. Characters with a few or no badges look like newbies. Those with a ton of badges are held in awe and jealousy.

2.1: Membership Badges

AQW Member BadgeWhen a player upgrades his/ her account they get immediately get a Member badge. This badge marks the player as a real supporter of the game. He/ she is responsible for the game's continued success and a Member badge, in my humble opinion, is the best one of all. Membership badges don't go away if your account runs out. You get to keep it.

For the last three years AQW has had special membership badges called "Upholders." Each year has it's own badge: 1st Upholder, 2nd Upholder, and 3rd Upholder. We don't know yet if Artix will do this every year. If you do see that AQW is having an Upholder badge drive make sure your membership is good until the end of the deadline.

2.2: Current Membership Badges

  1. Member: Received with membership upgrade.
  2. Dragon Hero: Awarded when an account is upgraded to member within 72 hours of creation.
  3. Axe Master: Awarded after three months of membership.
  4. Chaos Shaper: Awarded after 15 months of membership.
  5. V.I.P: Awarded with a 12 month membership.

3: Merchandise Badges

AQW Chronomancer BadgeBesides paying for an AQW membership a player can buy all sorts of merchandise from HeroMart and earn a badge. The rarest of these are the limited quantity items such as the yearly calender or limited-run T-shirts, like the Save Chuckles shirt.

3.2: Current Merchandise Badges

  1. Card Clasher: Purchase the AQW Battle Cards game.
  2. Chaos Pack/ Doom Pack: Purchase the booster packs (one badge for each).
  3. Dragon's Secret: Purchase the Adventure Quest novel, The Dragon's Secret.
  4. Dragons are Awesome: Purchase the Artix Entertainment T-shirt.
  5. Cyber Hunter: Purchase the EpicDuel T-shirt.

4: Event Badges

AQW Ctrl+Alt+Del BadgeMembers and non-mems alike can earn badges from events. Yearly holiday events award players with badges, such as the Food Fight badge for the harvest holiday or the Friday the 13th badge. There are also special events like the They Might Be Giants/ Collector story or the One Eyed Dolls live, in-game concert (Eye Was There badge).

Whenever you see an event happening in AQW, especially if there's a special guest, there might be a badge associated with the event. So make sure you show up and complete all quests for special events.

5.1: Achievement Badges

There are certain in-game achievements that will get a player a badge. The easiest is the Stubborn badge. But players can also get badges like Stone Cold and Skypirate Slayer.

5.2: Stubborn Badge

AQW Stubborn BadgeThe Stubborn badge takes a while but is easy to get. Members and non-members alike can get it.

To get the Stubborn badge, go to Twig's Nightmare: /join twig. After the cutscenes end, go up then right. You should see a number in the upper right-hand corner. Go all the way right. The number should go up by one. Now, keep going right until the number hits 100. You should see a message that you received the badge.

5.3: Stone Cold badge

AQW Stone Cold BadgeIn order to receive the Stone Cold badge you have to complete all Doomwood quests including the Light Temple. The simplest way to do this is by using the Book of Lore. Go to Story > More > Doomwood. You have to complete all quests up do "Restore the Tome."

If you haven't done the Doomwood quests yet this is going to take a while.

After finishing up the Light Temple quests you should be able to click on the Stone Paladin and get the "Galvanize the Guardian" quest. After finishing it you should receive the Stone Cold badge.

5.4: Skypirate Slayer Badge

AQW Skypirate Slayer BadgeThis members-only badge is received after slaying 100 Skypirates on top of the Strategy building.

Go to /join strategy and then go all the way up to the roof. To the right is the room with the Skypirates. Three very aggressive pirates will attack you at the same time. It's very difficult to survive long enough to kill 100 of these tough buggers so you might need help.

The white number in the upper right will tick off the number of pirates you kill. When you reach 100 you should see a message that you've earned the Skypirate Slayer badge. Congrats!

Book of Lore Badges

Wouldn't be cool if you could look in other players' Book of Lore and see their badges and achievements? Or maybe it would be a waste of time. What do you think?
