First of all, if you know what not to say and what type of messages do not work then you will save yourself a lot of heartache. There are two types of messages that absolutely do not work when trying to get back an ex lover:

The Desperate Pleaders who will say " he/she name, please, please call me. This is the third time I have called you and I have to talk with you."

The Desperate Emergencies will say " he/she name, this is an emergency, you have to call me as soon as you get this message."

Both of these messages sound awful and are guaranteed to turn off your ex. There is no reason to resort to this type of down on your knees begging. You don't want your ex to see you with no self-esteem or pride in yourself.

The best way to get back an ex lover is to have him/her contact you if you can psychologically boost their ego. In order to do this you need to create a sense of curiosity and self-interest. These two items are the most powerful forces in the human mind. But the secret to make them work like an explosion in your ex's mind is to combine them.

In a friendly tone when you call your ex lover you would want to say something like the following:

"Hi he/she name, this is my name, I wanted to let you know that I appreciate what you did for me. Call me because I want to thank you in person."

This will create curiosity and interest as your ex lover wonders what it is that they did and what is it that you appreciate. The curiosity will be overwhelming for them. Plus the message will leave your ex feeling good and he/she will not be dreading the call back to you.

The most important thing that you need before you actually ask your ex to return your call is a plan of what you should do before, during and after your ex returns the call. To get back an ex lover you need a reasonable plan because you can do more harm to yourself and the relationship if the entire situation is not handled properly.

An example would be:
Your ex returns your call and you start crying and telling him/her how much you miss them, and begging or pleading to be with them again. This would be a complete turn off and would probably scare your ex away for good.

So create a plan before you call and ask your ex to return your call.

At such a horrible and tough time it is reassuring to read the correct way to handle yourself and go about respecting someone's wishes (a breakup) but at the same time try to get them back. A lot of people don't realize how simple and easy it is, patience is a virtue and because of you ... I am now dating the love of my life again, we were together for 4 years, split for only 2 1/2 months and are now back together. I did what you... told me was the ONLY option and it worked.
