Fight back Insomnia
What is insomnia? You maybe somehow familiar with this term and would immediately think of "difficulty of sleeping." Yes, you are right. But in order to clearly define the word, let me quote its meaning from wikipedia: "An individual's report of sleeping difficulties." Also, another meaning is: "difficulty of initiating and/or maintaining sleep, or non-responsive sleep, associated with impairments of daytime functioning or marked distress for more than a month."

Ways to Promote Sleep
There are several ways to promote sleep and I bet there are some that you have done so yourself already. The techniques that I will be sharing with you may not guarantee 100% sleep but some will prove to be successful.- Indulge in a warm bath
Warm temperature is the best way to relax your very stressed body. However, please don't overdo it. Our aim here is for you to relax and not to exhaust your body. Staying for long hours in a warm bath will drain your energy.
Throw in one cup of bath salts/Epsom salts and baking soda into your bath as this will promote more relaxation as well as detoxify your body.
- Power of massage
Ask your significant other (or anybody from your household) to give you a massage prior to your bedtime. If they are willing to give you a full body massage, that is just perfect. But if not, then at least get a back massage and/or scalp and face massage. Instruct them to massage you in a slow, gentle but firm strokes to ease of the tension out from your muscles thus promoting better sleep.
- A glass of warm milk
It is a fact that a glass of warm milk at least 15 minutes prior to bed will calm down your nervous system. Milk has lots of Calcium that directly works on ridged nerves to make them and you relax more.
- Power of music
Play a music that is slow, mellow and calming that has the ability to send you to dreamland. Some music are particularly crafted, while others have sound waves that are rhythmically breaking, or having a tempo similar to that of our heartbeat. Most of these music will lull you to sleep, others also compose of just voices and the sounds of nature that are so calming (e.g. the rippling of the waters and birds chirping).
-Herb tea delight
In case you don't prefer milk or lactose intolerant for that matter, go ahead and try a cup of warm catnip, chamomile, fennel or anise tea. All of them has natural compositions that will aid you in sleeping. Also, health stalls have special blended kind of herb tea that is created in order to calm you and get a much better sleep.
-Seek professional help
Go see your doctor if insomnia has been going on for days already since it can be a sign of other physical disorders. Though for the majority it is just the result of everyday stress, tension, and anxiety plus it is also a fact that the more we think about us being "insomniac" the more it gets worse.
Personally, I suggest that you first try all the natural methods and use the medications if there is no other way. But then again, the choice is yours to make.
Say goodbye to sleepless nights and hello to good nights sleep!
