Why go green?

There is so much talk about why we should go green these days. Sustainability, global warming, excess landfill sites to name just a few. Yet we still seem to flood the environment with pollution.

If we constantly discard non-bio-degradable rubbish into the environment where will things end up? Do you want a landfill site near you? Quite apart from the stink it's said that the health of anyone, or anything, that lives within 8 miles of such a site will be adversely affected. So even if there isn't one in YOUR neighbourhood, can you be sure that the "fresh" produce you eat - from home or abroad - isn't too close for comfort?

Excess environmental toxins on landfill sites is one part of the problem. But closer to home, what kind of products are we putting onto our bodies and what chemicals are we breathing in at home?
