Grilled Chicken Recipes

One of the quickest and easiest anytime meals is grilled chicken breasts.

They cook in minutes and can be marinated, sauced up, or topped with your favorite ingredients to create a new taste sensation every time you cook them. And compared to some other meals, they are still an affordable way to serve something delicious for dinner.

I've included the basic recipe for grilled chicken breasts and assembled a list of luscious links to some of the best grilled chicken recipes that I've found online.

I've also included some information about my favorite grill for cooking chicken, the Weber 386002 Q-100 Portable Gas Grill, along with some fabulous marinade cookbooks and gourmet sauces you might like to try on your chicken.

How to Grill Chicken Breasts

Basic Grilled Chicken Recipe

This is a simple basic (but still delicious) recipe for grilling chicken breasts. If you'd like to use barbeque sauce on your chicken to add more flavor, follow this recipe but wait to add the sauce until just before it is cooked through to prevent the sauce from burning.

If you prefer to use a marinade, that should be done prior to cooking. After you've marinated the chicken breasts according to your recipe, (or bottle directions) you can cook the breasts as follows.

What You'll Need
Figure on serving one or two whole chicken breasts per person.

Boneless Chicken Breasts
Olive Oil
Salt and Pepper

*A Hot Grill

Directions

Pre heat your charcoal or gas grill to medium-high heat.

Rub Olive oil over both sides of the chicken breasts.

Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.

Place chicken breasts on the grill.

Grill until just cooked through, about 5 or 6 minutes per side- depending on thickness of breasts.

Remove from grill and serve immediately.

Enjoy!

Beer-Can Chicken: And 74 Other Offbeat Recipes for the Grill

From Publishers Weekly
After such all-encompassing efforts as The Barbecue! Bible and How to Grill, Raichlen turns his attention to a single and hilarious style of preparation, one based on an inspired theory: if there is anything a guy loves more than his grill, his brew and his gadgets, it is the opportunity to combine the three into a succulent main course. The basic technique is simplicity itself, boosted by just enough schoolboy rudeness to make it irresistible. Take one whole chicken, insert half a can of a favorite beer into its cavity, then prop it up on the BBQ. The can, in combination with the drumsticks, forms a tripod that keeps the bird upright, allowing the skin to achieve a fine crispness even as the internal steamer flavors the bird and eliminates the need for basting. A cornucopia of rubs, marinades, and beer-can fillers provides for more recipe variations than one would sanely care to attempt (massage the chicken in dill, sugar, garlic and mustard, pour a little Scandinavian liquor in with the ale and, voil%uFFFD Chicken Aquavit). For teetotalers, there are sauces made from cola, ginger ale, peach nectar or lemonade, each with the appropriate can of soft drink inserted into its awaiting fowl. He does include some recipes that might be better in theory than practice, such as the Quail on a Throne, which involves small cans of prune juice and a Cinnamon-Prune sauce. Subtle safety tips are proffered (Never grill a bird on an unopened can!).

Great grilling advice. I like my chicken marinated in a combination of fresh lemon juice, olive oil, minced garlic, with a little fresh chopped rosemary or thyme.

Mmmm. We love ours boneless with BBQ sauce or even just in a marinade of bottled Italian dressing or maybe some cajun seasoning or Mrs. Dash. Lots of ways to flavor up grilled chicken! The pineapple on your grill looks so good, too. Is it supper time yet??
