A Few Tips on How To Grill Perfect Burgers is all that's needed!

Let me tell you that we love our grilled burgers in Fargo, North Dakota in the USA and Moorhead, Minnesota. The cold season in the FM Area does prevent us from grilling on those very cold and blustery days outdoors, so we really enjoy them when we can grill our own. That may be why we have more restaurants per-capita than many other cities. Grilling is a wonderful and excellent way to cook outdoors or indoors. Just a few little tips is needed to tell you how to grill perfect burgers.

~ How To Grill Perfect Burgers ~

Juicy Mouthwatering Burgers are the Best! 

Ground beef that is 80% to 85% lean is the best to use, because it is the fat that makes your burgers juicy and it adds the best flavor.

Frozen ground beef should be thawed completely in the refrigerator beforehand to stay on the safe side.

Checking if the burgers are done: Insert an instant thermometer into the side of the burger to check the temperature in the middle of the burger. A burger should be cooked to 160 degrees F.

The heat keeps on cooking the burgers after they are removed from the hot grill. When you remove the burgers from the grill, wait 3 to 4 minutes and then test with a thermometer to see if they are 160 F.

Pink or brown in the middle is not an indication that the burgers are cooked to 160 F. Burgers that are pink in the middle can be cooked through. Burgers that are brown in the middle might not be cooked to 160 degrees F.

Handle the meat as little as possible while shaping the ground beef patties, Over handling makes the burgers tough because the ground beef gets compressed.

Form patties to about 3/4-inch thick and than press your thumb in the middle of each of the patties to prevent it from bulging while grilling. (or pan frying)

Preheat your grill for approximately 15 minutes until it is hot and ready. Remember to refrigerate your burger patties while the grill is heating up.

Just before grilling the burgers, season them with salt and pepper (season to taste) on the outside to prevent the salt from drawing moisture out from the patties. The salt will enhance the flavor of the ground beef flavor and will delight your taste buds.

Once you place the patties on the grill it is best to leave them alone. Do not press on the burgers because this will force the juices to come out.

One flip after 5 to 6 minutes. It takes about 5 minutes to get the burgers ready from the grill to the mouth and gives the burgers time to rest before serving.

Grilling Frozen Burgers: They won't be perfect, not even on a gas grill. They will end up pink and on the inside, maybe even raw instead of rare.

    I just enjoyed my leftover 1/2 of my perfect burger from last night for breakfast--yummy! We grilled at 6pm in the dark--the hot coals sure look pretty when its dark out. Large portabellas are a great veggie alternative for a burger and they grill beautifully--no need to poke your finger in the middle.[in reply to Tipi]

    I love my burgers and other meats, fish...I don't think being a vegetarian could be my style. I do love a all veggie meal meal at times though. Wild game is my favorite meats and grilled is even better. ~ Thanks mulberry, god to see you!
