- Thanks for sharing such a wonderful post. I have been growing strawberry plants in hanging basket. I love strawberry plants and don't want anything wrong to happen. I always get confused on watering. But after reading your article I got clear view. Thanks again.

- I like strawberries a lot and I like the idea to grow them in hanging pots. This way they can be appropriate to grow them inside, which means you have fresh strawberries at your hand whenever you want them :))
Thumbs up for your lens!

- I am so glad I found this lens. I have tried the special strawberry pots with not much luck and I was wondering if could use just a hanging basket. I am going to try this year.

- We have had our hanging strawberries out since spring. Now the weather is turning cool and frost and cold weather are cose. Do we bring them inside? Do we water and let them have light all winter or do we let them go dormant with no light?

- If I were you, I'd place them whether inside the house or even the garage so that they don't get frozen because of winter temperatures. Now, last year it has been very cold and we've had lots of snow and I forgot the potted strawberry plants in the garden... I thought they would have died, but they survived :)
But my suggestion is to get them inside in a not too warm room, water them like any other plant, and let them profit from the sunlight during the day and dark at night.

- Oh, wow! What a fabulous idea!!! I love strawberries and I have always hesitated to grow them in my current home because of my dogs. Now I see that I can still have my berries and my dogs :) Today, on our "back to school" bus tour, I am visiting the garden category and I am leaving you with angel blessings.

- last year after my daughter brining home 3 starwberry plants, we decided to try growing them in a pot!, the fruit was delighful (okay we dipped in chocolate) but for a child to watch the process and be involved in the growing of their own fruit was just wonderful, what a wonderful page, and I would encourage anyone (I do not have green fingers!) to try this at home.~ Blessed~

- Now this sure makes sense, no garden needed! It sounds like a wonderful luxury experience to be able to sit on your deck or balcony and pluck a strawberry at will. I would guess that your tip about watering in the morning has to do with the sun keeping some type of leaf fungus under control. I'll have to give this a try. My mouth began watering when I saw you wonderful hanging strawberries!

- We would need to try your hanging pots method as we have many feral cats, opossum, armadillo and raccoons which would make short order of our strawberry crop ... and quite possibly all the birds too -- but this is so worthy of trying. Thanks DOM for presenting it so lovely.

- This is great idea. I grew strawberries a couple of years ago and they actually escaped from their container (on the ground) and took over half the flower bed. Growing them 'up there' would curtail their rambling tendencies. Will try it this year as I have some unused baskets.
And.. because I have wings... consider yourself blessed!
