How To Hookup Your DVD Player
DVD Players
Let's Clear Up The DVD Hookup
Ok, the easiest DVD player hook up is the 3 wire connection (red, white and yellow wired cable) known as an RCA or AV cable. Both the DVD and TV will have the same color coded plugs. Make sure your colors match like for like. Red and White are your audio and Yellow is for video.
The TV Side Of The Equation
This Part Seems To Cause The Most Confusion
Televisions have multiple connections so that you can receive programming from a variety of sources. Each connection is marked so pay attention to which one you use.Remember to match the colors and most likely the connections will be marked something like (example: AV1,VIDEO1 or INPUT1).
Let's Take Her For A Spin
Time To Test The Setup
1. Turn on DVD player (may as well hit play while you're at it) otherwise the screen will be blank when you try the inputs.
2. Turn on TV.
3. With either the remote or the buttons on the TV switch inputs until you see DVD signal. You should have the name of each input appear at the top of the screen as you cycle through the options. The button for changing inputs can have several different names the most common are: INPUT,TV/VIDEO and SOURCE.
4. You should have a picture if not check your connections.

- I recently purchased a Dynex 37" LCD TV and the back panel has Blue, Green, and Orange along with the Red and White. The composite video cables and the "Component" cables are Red, White, and Yellow...also, have a HDMI connection on the back of TV.
So many colors, but thanks for the information and helpful tips.

- Good topic considering how many people have trouble with this. You might help yourself by converting that image into the actual lens photo image, so it shows up in places like lists, categories and searches. Proper Lens Images mean better LR, which can mean more visits.
