How to Host a Murder Mystery Party

My Ride on the Murder Myster Train

Some of the most fun I have ever had was on a train going from Renton, WA to a winery in Woodinville, WA.on a Murder Mystery Train. What a fun way to travel on a train.

The Murder Mystery Party was so much fun, suddenly a person we had been talking to, fell out of her seat and lay on the floor of the train. Now, you would think since we all knew this is what we came for we would not have panicked! Not so!

It took everybody a little while as the other characters continued in "character" to examine the body... then we all settled down and enjoyed the show.

You can have the same fun as we had on that train, right in your own home, with How to Host a Murder games.

Tips to Make Your Murder Mystery Party a Success

1. Send Invitations Early. Give your guests their parts way in advance, so, they can learn their parts.

2. Invite Guest Who Know What They Are Getting Into. Make sure you invite only guests who really want to be involved. Someone who does not want to do their part can ruin the whole party. (let them be a spectator to the event)

3. Dress the Party. Have guests dress the part of their character (it help sets the mood). Plus, with enough notice everyone can search for costumes at discount stores like Goodwill or Salvation Army or even consignment shops.

Murder Mystery Party - A Murder on the Grill

Could it be Ivan Spudnik, the Russian rocket scientist, or maybe Chubby Cheddar, the hit rock 'n' roll musician with a secret? Somebody put a barbecue fork through car dealer Tom Dooley, and that somebody is at your dinner party.

Bepuzzled's popular Murder à La Carte series makes your home the scene of the crime with a complete 1950's murder mystery that places your guests as the chief suspects. Only one of them knows for sure who put the fork in Dooley. Six to eight friends play roles from a sexy divorceé to greaser Johnny Angel, with plenty of scripts and suggestions on how to ham it up.

The set includes an audiotape guide, background booklets for each player, special clues (including mysterious checks and blackmail letters), and anything else you need for an evening of unpredictable fun. There are even party invitations and tasty recipes. --Paul Hughes
