You Can't Just Lose Fat Off Your Waist

If you have excess fat around your waist, no amount of sit ups is going to make it go away. You can't crunch the fat away and you can't twist your way to a thinner waist. However, this doesn't mean you are stuck with fat on your waist forever. There are things you can do that will help you lose that waist fat and become healthier overall.

1. A Healthy Diet...

First, you need to focus on your diet. Do you stick to a restricted calorie diet all week and then splurge on the weekends? While it may sound like a good idea, you're really only taking in all the calories you missed during the week. You won't make any progress this way. It's much easier to make daily adjustments to your diet so that you never have to feel restricted and it becomes a normal part of your life.

2. Exercise...

How much exercise do you get? Aerobics are a great way to get your metabolism up which will burn excess fat from the body, such as that which hangs onto your waist. Do you do any weight lifting? You don't have to be a body builder, but a little strength training a couple days a week will help you build muscle and boost your metabolism. Be sure to lift heavy enough weights that you feel it in your muscles after about 10-12 repetitions.

3. Manage Stress...

Do you have stress in your life? Everyone has some stress that can't be avoided, but excess stress or the inability to properly manage your stress can affect your metabolism and also cause fat to build up in problem areas such as your waist.

When you learn to eat properly, exercise regularly and manage the stress in your life, you will see that your waist is getting smaller. Then you can take off those extra inches and keep them off.
