Now that you've got your base hoop, you'll most likely want to decorate it.
- Easy-to-use Vinyl (Electrical) Tape
- If you're new to hoop taping, you may want to start with a small supply of vinyl tape. Sticking with the 1-inch tape for overall coverage is a good start. The smaller widths are good for color accents. Most folk find the 2-inch tape unwieldy for decorating hula hoops.
- Add Color, Weight & Texture with Gaffer Tape
- Gaffer tape is a fabric tape, available in many colors, including some bright fluorescent colors that glow under UV light. The gaffer tape is also heavy, adding more weight and a wee bit of cushioning.
- Bright Duct Tape for all your Hooping Designs
- My favorite tape is bright-colored duct tape. It's just a bit shiny and makes for a really pretty hoop, especially when I order it in the brighter colors. It comes in a one-inch width for making beautiful custom hoop decorations.

- Just curious...I made my own hoop for the first time, and I feel like it didn't come out perfectly round. As in, it's a bit oblong, not much, but enough that I can tell by looking at it that it's not quite right. Any ideas for what I might have done wrong?
