How To Make A Perfect Jello Shot

I love jello shots... ohhh yes I love them.

I might sound like a fanatic of them, but it's because I am one.

I learned by experience how to do them, I will always remember my first try... they tasted aufwul, I made them after I saw them in a party around 1989 I guess.

I did not know the girl that served me, nor the owner of the house, plus I was on vacation so about one year after I came back home, I stumbled in a pack of jello in the store and I decided to give the jello shot a try.

Some of my mistakes were:

*too much alcohol [your stomach just burn]

*layer of jello, layer of alcohol , layer of jello [the alcohol just does not mix]

A lot of other mistakes I don't even remember about... The reason?

Simple: as a first try I used a full bottle of absolut [1L] and a lot of jello, and I made many tries. I wrote in every cup what experiment was that.

And then the evening arrived, we were just a few friends [6] and we had too many jellos :)

This is why I just remember the most aufwul tasting jellos :P The memory of the others is forever lost.

I just realized that I wrote a kind of long introduction, let's just start with the real lens shall we?

p.s. I so happy! This lens give me another change of making jellos, not that I need an excuse, but you know.. preparing my house for a massive amount of parting was not in my project this week :)

 

When I saw this result I could not help myself so I created this lens.

Remember when eating jello shots, the alcohol is contained within the jello, it is absorbed more slowly and even drinkers with experience will often underestimate how much they have had to drink.

With less alcohol they will also be less expensive, can be more often enjoyed, and your party will last longer.

Unscented jello is my choice,the best for doing the shots, choose the color you like the most. The drink will give the flavour to the jello shot.

Your favourite alcohol.

Water or any alcohol free liquid.

Paper, plastic, glass or even ice cups. Just make sure you have enough of them.

The special cups made for jello shots are cheaper than the regular plastic shot cup.

Warning: Alcohol is flamable always pay attention when cooking.

Since you need to boil the water to make the jello, my suggestion is to prepare the jello mixing it with just water or your favourite juice and after the solution has cooled down add the alcohol and stir well.

Basic Recipe:
1 box of jello
1 cup of wodka
3 cups of water

Read the instructions on your jello box. With the one I use you are supposed to mix the jello and the liquid when they are cold, with some other brands you need to heat the liquid first.

If you want to cool the jello faster you can boil less water and then add at the end cold water with the alcohol.

Too many jello shots tend to be watery and sweet with no distinct flavour. Use real fruit juice instead of water in the mixture to give a stronger taste.

If you are having an hard time getting the jello out of their molds, just dip the molds in hot water, the jello will pop out easily.

Mesure your alcohol, add some fresh fruit and then leave it in the fridge for the next 24 hours. The alcohol will be infused with the flavour of the fruit. It makes the jello shots even more tastier.

Keep your alcohol in the freezer. It helps cool down the Jello Shot so it sets faster, plus it is less likely to "cook off" before the
jello shot sets.
