    I've tried ping sites before, and I do not know if they are worth putting the effort into using, as I have not seen an increase in traffic from them. I only see traffic from my networking on this site.

    Interesting lens for noobs to IM, I would have expected more detailed info about building links,also not like potpiegirl in any way as she promotes Wealthy Affiliate and targets noobs. Selling IM products to noobs is criminal in my view .

    I did feel guilty for keeping any money earnt on Squidoo, appreciate you telling me that Squidoo sends some to charity anyway. I'd better go make some more good quality lenses so that charity gets every more...

    I have been here nearly six months, and still learning my way around. Right now I don't make anything on affiliate stuff except an occasional Amazon sale. Apparently what I write about just doesn't attract people who are ready to buy things. Since I'm not into fashion, makeup and other foo-foo stuff I don't write about those things and apparently that's where a lot of $ is at.

    Thanks for the information. I'm not making a lot on Squidoo yet, but it's still early days. I think affiliate marketing is the best way, as well as the Amazon modules, to make money here. I have a website, Party Pantry, that sells party supplies through an affiliate. (not trying to plug here, but to prove my point and give an example) I make about $10,000 per year through the affiliate sales from this one company. AllPosters.com also pays a great affiliate commission and works well on Squidoo.

    Excellent lens! Extremely informative and inspirational. Although I joined Squidoo back in October of last year (to comment) I really didn't make a lens until March of this year. I was surprised to learn that a lens created on 17 March earned over $13 for me (from Google ad revenue sharing) and two others brought the total to $15. I only learned about the earnings a short time ago, but it convinced me to set about making more and keeping them all fresh. I wil be studying this lens closely to learn more. thanks!

    It is amazing how many people forget to ping their lenses, I use to be one of those two. My biggest issue was always coming up with new content. So for a while I stopped using Squidoo, but now I use wordpress plug in for my unique content and with plug in come up with a lot of keywords and content ideas to post on my squidoo lens.

    A 5 Star Lens by my thinking. There are so many great ways to drive traffic and spiders to your lenses, joining groups is one of them, Squidoo Comments is another. Don't forget to link to your lens from external places as well. Thanks for the info. Paul
