I'm happy to share this simple experiment with you. The kids will love it; I remember that we did like this tool in our school when I was kid.

The principle material that you need

+ A cork
+ A needle "sewing needle"
+ A magnet
+ Container of water "plastic or glass"

The steps to follow

1. Rub the magnet on the needle going in the same sense "repeat this action 50 to 100 times".
2. Cut a circle shaped piece from the cork "like 1/4 inch".
3. Lay the needle on the cork.
4. Put all in the container of water.
5. The needle will always point in a North direction.
