With summer baseball in full swing, have Baseball cupcakes ready for the little hitters and runners when the game is over! Whether to celebrate a victory or just to have fun time with their team mates...Baseball cupcakes are sure to be the home run hit of the party! And they are so easy to decorate! If you have never done tube icing decorating, this is a good one for you to start practicing on. All you need is red and white icing, a couple lines and you have a baseball cupcake! Just a note... you can also use a round cake pan and make a really large baseball cake if a cake is what you need!
Sometimes it is hard to make cakes for boys....
but this one is sure to fill the score card!
I made these for my son on two Birthdays during his life. They were a hit both times! I made cupcakes the first time and a large cake when he was a little older. Both cakes were a hit with all players!
How to Make a Baseball Cupcake
Quick and easy baseball cupcakes for the team!
Using a store bought box cake mix, prepare the batter as instructed. Place paper muffin cups in the cupcake pan. Fill each muffin paper about 2/3 full. They cakes will rise, but you want a nice round top, not one that over flows the edge. Bake as directed on the box.
Prepare white icing.
Here's a great icing recipe. Or you can use store bought icing. Ice each cupcake smoothly. .
Using the ready-made red icing in the tubes (as shown below) draw the red ties on the top of the cupcake as shown in the picture above. Another way to make the design is to draw a half-circle pointing inward, on 2 sides/edges of the cupcake, then small, short lines crossing to make the ties.
You can also set aside a bit of the white icing and add red food coloring to use with your decorating tube and tips.
