How to make Bubble Solution - Best Bubble Solution Recipe
My 3 year old wanted to make bubbles, so going out and buying the regular bubble maker was pretty easy. And cheap. But after only 10 minutes, she was already out of the magical bubble liquid. (I suspect she drop half on the ground, but couldn't get her to admit it)
I though : no problem ! Let's fill it up with water and some liquid dish washing soap.
But no. What a disappointment. The bubble won't even form or if they do, they are immediately popping. So here I was - a mom on a mission (again) for answers and solutions. This time, to make the perfect homemade bubble solution.
Bubble Solution Recipe
Only 3 ingredients... but don't mess it up !

2. dishwashing detergent
3. glycerin

#1 - Water for Bubble Solution
yeah but, what water exactly ?
You will need SOFT water.
soft water
n.
Water containing little or no dissolved salts of calcium or magnesium, especially water containing less than 85.5 parts per million of calcium carbonate.
www.thefreedictionary.com
You need soft water to make bubbles, because hard water contains mineral salts that interfere with the formation of lather with soap. The tap water where you live could be good enough, ( you will of course have to try it yourself ) but for optimal bubble results, look for distilled water at your grocery store.

#2 - Dishwashing Detergent for you Homemade Bubble
did you try these for your bubble mix ?
There is a friendly dispute on which dishwashing soap is the best when making your own bubble solution. Some brands are only available in certain countries, so you will have to experiment on your own, but whatever you do, do NOT use a soap for dishwashing machines. Those are made to NOT make bubbles.

I give up... I just wanna buy
# 3 - Glycerine, Karo Syrup or Flaxseed
for long lasting bubbles
Glycerine is available at most drug stores and grocery stores. Do not buy the glycerine mix with other substance. Another practical additive is white Karo Syrup which is easily.
You could also try to boil for 5 min some flaxseeds, wich will make an oily water. You can use this water (take out the seeds of course) while it is still hot, and add your dishwashing soap. This way, it will mix better and could help evaporate some unwanted substance from the soap.

Since making bubbles is their specialty, I though I would mention them here.
Pustefix Premium Bubbles Refill
Amazon Price: $0.15 (as of 05/31/2012)![]()
Pustefix means soap bubbles in German and these Pustefix bubbles are hands down the best on the market. Dr. Rolf Hein Nachfolger KG is the long name of a small company in Tbingen (Baden-Wrttemberg) that is best known by the brand name of its sole product: Pustefix soap bubbles. Pustefix got its start after World War II, when the companys namesake, Rolf Hein, a chemist and entrepreneur, experimented with soap-bubble mixtures until he hit upon the perfect solution. That blend, still used today, is non-toxic, bio-degradable, and results in gorgeous streams of shimmering, long-lasting bubbles.
