How to Make Eggnog

Ingredients

• 4 cups milk
• 2 cups heavy cream
• 12 eggs separated
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 pint whiskey (rum or brandy)
• 1/2 cup sugar
• ground nutmeg

Instructions

1. Place eggs and sugar into a saucepan.
2. Whisk until light colored and frothy.
3. Whisk in 2 cups of milk until thoroughly blended.
4. Place saucepan over medium heat, continuing to stir until the mixture begins to thicken.
5. Remove from heat, and allow to cool, about 5 minutes.
6. Stir in remaining milk, vanilla extract, heavy cream and whiskey.
7. Refrigerate to cool before serving, about 2 hours.
8. Serve in mugs or cups and garnish with a sprinkle of nutmeg.

Variation
The EggNogless
Many argue over the meaning of Nog in Eggnog. My family believes it to be the alcohol added. So, if you have children or adults that do not drink alcohol, just hold the Nog and serve an EggNogless.
