How to make handmade paper
How to make handmade paper art hobby crafts project. Laura has pulled her white handmade paper sheets, which are laid out on linen and under that is wadding etc to absorb the water (they were later pressed).
Laura also made some green handmade paper, from recycled paper, which she is shown here pressing onto a plain sheet in the shape of a musical note. She later pulled another thin sheet of handmade paper over the top to embed, or laminate, the green note

You can make handmade paper from - well, paper scraps.If you keep a container, bag or box somewhere handy for storage. Place little bits of paper, for example off envelopes, wrapping paper, writing pads and the like into our container for storage, until you are ready to transform it into your own hand made paper.
TIP: if you have a shredder, they are pretty cheap now, you can use that to shred your junk mail, giving you smaller shreds to pulp down later. Don't forget to remove or exclude any heavy coloured printed paper and the see through window part of envelopes.
Another way of saving the planet? Well maybe it's not enough to save the planet, but every little helps in the world of recycling.

rip it up
Place your ripped up or shredded paper into a plastic container and soak in hot water. WARNING: Please don't scald or burn yourself!
Hot water helps break down the fibers, making it easier to pulp.
Depending upon the amount of paper pulp you are wanting to make, you can either
- take the domestic route and use a hand held blender, or
- take the commercial route and add a mixing attachment to your drill.
Your paper pulp is ready when you have fine paper fibres.
Avoid clogging the fibres by ensuring you have them in plenty of water.

Response to visitor Question:Making handmade crepe paper is basically the same process as making handmade paper. However, it is the drying process and 'scraping off' the sheets that gives crepe paper its particular qualities.

I love hand made papers products, but not very proficient in making hand made papers, usually i buy handmade papers from coniferhandmade, they have a wide range of handmade papers.

Making handmade paper is a real art, though i love handmade paper products and have made a numbers of items with it, but i hardly made hand made paper by my self, i prefer it buy rather than to made it.

Handmade papers looks really very attractive and they are very suitable for making paper craft, but i prefer to buy handmade paper rather than making it, i`m bit lazy, though i love making paper products and decorative items.
