You start off with the first step boiling.The malt extract together with hops are boiled together with water.Boiling terminates the enzymatic process and sterilizes the malt extract.Hops add flavor,aroma and bitterness.The boiled mixture or wort is cooled quickly to room temperature.Not cooling the wort quickly increases the chances of infection as pitching of yeast is delayed.

The cooled wort is transferred to a fermentation bucket.The selected yeast is added into the tank.The yeast ferments the starch into alcohol and carbon dioxide in 1-2 weeks.Once the primary fermentation is done it is siphoned off to another tank where it is held for another week for secondary fermentation.
