How To Make Homemade Wine

Learning how to make homemade wines can be a very simple or quite complicated process.

I first became interested in this subject when my Uncle Dale begin to make homemade wine from the grapes he grows in his garden.

I was fascinated and soon enthralled by the process he used to make his homemade wine. He showed me how to use a hydrometer to measure the wine's alcohol content.

He was soon making some very good wines (at least to my uneducated palate). 

Over the years, I'd stop by to help pick the grapes and help mash the grapes and help with the various processes of turning the grapes from the garden into a very good homemade wine.  

Making Wine At Home Can Be A Fun Hobby Or Absorbing Passion

I never did become a full scale homemade wine vintner like my uncle.

Sure, I made a couple of batches with a really basic process. But never got into making homemade wine with the zeal that he did.

And that's okay.

You see the beauty of making wine from home is that it's such a flexible pastime. There's plenty of room for the dabbler as well as the serious enthusiast.

You can spend countless hours absorbed in growing your grapes (or other fruits) in your garden or backyard. You can enthusiastically research different recipes and methods to make wine. You can turn your basement into a veritable wine factory.

Or you can just brew up a batch every now and again. It's up to you.
