How To Make Money With Amazon Lenses

How To Make Money With Amazon Lenses

When it comes to making money with Squidoo lenses some people seem to have a natural ability to know what is going to sell and what isn't.

Amazon is well known as one of the best ways to make sales from your lens yet there only seems to be a handful of people getting consistent sales - or is there? Ask yourself one thing - If YOU were making sales would you be shouting it from the rooftops and letting everyone else know about it? Just a quick look around Squidoo and you'll see hours of work going on - do you think they would bother if they were making nothing? Money is being made people - look for yourself!.

There are a few people who realise that they have already built a great lens and are happy to share the fact that they are making money and there are also people who will guard their niche and tactics with their life!

This lens aims to help you find out how you can make money with Amazon lenses.

Why Amazon Lenses Earn You Money

It's more than just a great lens

type=amazonlensesMaking money from your Squidoo lens doesn't have to be hard, in fact, with Amazon, half the work is done for you! All you have to do is complete a few simple steps and you can be the next Squidoo success story.

In order to sell products online there are a few simple rules that need to be followed - Find a great niche, build traffic and then send them to a well optimized website to make the sale. This is what is so great about Amazon, they have spent millions ensuring that their site is optimized to make the greatest number of sales.

They know what works and you can take advantage of that by getting yourself a great Squidoo lens and sending your visitors to Amazon desperate to buy.

A great lens in a hungry niche is what you need to concentrate on!

What I Came Here Looking For

Finding My Amazon Lens Niche

This is the most important step to get right

type=amazonnicheFinding a niche market always seems to be a stumbling block for people when they first start out. Of course this lens cannot go into all the ways there are of finding a niche but it can give you the basic set of rules for you to locate your own niche.

Since I started out online I am forever hearing people say that you should start off with something that you are interested in like your hobbies. Whilst that sounds good in theory I have found that in reality it can often be harder than they thought and normally not very profitable. If earning money doesn't encourage you to write a few articles then nothing will!

Always remember that reviews written by product owners will always stand out more and seem much more genuine than the ones thrown together from product descriptions!

For me personally I look at the Amazon bestseller lists and then look for products that are:

a) High priced items
b) High volume items
c) Items that I own and love
d) Hot in demand items

You can add a nice monthly income with low value items that sell in high volumes so don't dismiss this idea. It's also important to remember that the people who order from Amazon will quite often order more than one item - it's strange to see odd items turning up in your sales report.

Important Tips For Your Amazon Niche Lens

Things to remember before you get started

type=amazonlensThere are thousands of tools out there that claim to help you with your market research and whilst some of them do have their place, I do not often use them. The Google keyword tool is just fine for you to see how many searches are being made each month - its free and it doesn't cost you a penny! That's got to be a bonus :)

Aim for around 800+ searches per month but this can vary drastically in reality to what they list so always go with your gut feeling - if you think you would search for it, chances are so would others.

Always put yourself in the shoes of the buyer. If you wanted to buy a new stroller what would you be searching for? Would you be looking for the best deal on a named brand or a cheap one to throw in the back of the car? Know who you are aiming your market towards and stick with it. The more options you put into your Amazon lens the more 'untargeted' it will become - keep it tight!

Building Your Lens To Sell With Amazon

It gets easier each time!

type=amazonreviewlensesBuilding lenses is something that develops with each and every lens that you create so the old saying is true - practise makes perfect! Although there is no hard and fast rule for this, I have found that using the 'review' style is far more effective then throwing a few hundred links to the readers to see if they can find something.

Using just one product and knowing who you are aiming it at and them selling them the 'solutions' is going to make for a much better conversion from visitor to buyer. You'll already know why they are looking for that new stroller that they can throw in the back of the car for shopping and school runs etc. What you need to do now is let them know that this great compact stroller that you found ticks all the boxes for them.

You can then use the showcase module to show them all about the great item that you found. For more information on building great lenses take a look at Squidoo Queen.

This is very helpful and just the information I was searching for! It's frustrating to see people clicking on Amazon links but not buying. I suspect this is because I'm not targeting customers well enough. Or perhaps, they'll come back in a few days and make the purchase :) Your lens gives me some good ideas that I will be using though! Blessed by an angel and added to my angel lens :)
