Before You Begin....
There are some basics to go through before you begin or you will not know what you are doing. Once you know what you are doing, then you can let your creativity to take over to create your very own unique perfume without a recipe.Perfumes generally consists of essential oils, alcohol and water. The more essential oil you put in relative to the amount of water and oil, the stringer you perfume will be. To make a perfume the composition of your formula will be about 20% essential oils, 70% alcohol and 10% water. Now, this is not a rule. Depending on how you like your perfume to be, you vary those ratios.
Mix first the essential oils and alcohol (in any ratio and amount you like). Let them stand for a while. The longer you leave them, the stronger the smell will be.
So let me summarize. Here are the variables you can alter. The amount of water, essential oils and alcohol. The period of time you leave the alcohol and essential oil mixture. Lastly, and most obviously, the type or mixture of essential oils you put in.
Ingredients You Need
1.Depending on the type of fragrance you want to achieve, different types of essential oils are needed. There are numerous types of essential oils like jojoba, tea tree etc. Do your research on these essential oils before you attempt to make your perfume.2.You will need vodka. You can choose to use brandy if you can't find a vodka.
3. You will also need distilled or pure spring water. Do not use your tap water.
4. A sterilized glass bottle, or perfume bottle to store your creation.
5. This is optional but highly recommended: a notebook to record the time of creation and the formula of your perfume.
6. You can add glycerin to make your perfume's scent last longer.

Making The Perfume
There are 3 different notes in perfumes. The top note is the scent you perceived when the perfume is first applied. The middle note is the scent you perceive after leaving it on for 15-30mins. The base note is the scent you perceive after leaving it on for 30mins or more. Here are some suggestions for the different notes.
1. Top note: rose, lavender, jasmine and bergamot.
2. Middle note: lemon-grass, geranium and neroli.
3. Base note: vanilla, cinnamon, and sandalwood.
Be very sure to add top note oils, followed by middle notes and lastly base note oils. When adding the oils, use a glass dropper. Do not just pour it in. Add a single drop of the oil you want and smell your mixture. Add more only if think you need more.
After finishing the mixture of essential oils add some vodka (alcohol) to it. It is up to you and depends on your taste how much to add.
Shake the mixture well and leave it for at least 48 hours. The longer you leave it, the stronger your perfumer will be.
After getting your desired strength, you can add distilled water to your mixture. Be careful not to too many because your mixture can get too diluted.
You're done!
As for you newbies, don't get discourage! If you don't get the scent you want, try again. But that's probably not your problem. Your problem is more likely to be.... you have no idea what scent you want! You can search online for some recipes. There are even some who imitates brand name perfumes.
