How To Make Tri Bead Candy Cane Ornaments

I've been making Tri Bead Candy Cane Ornaments for my entire life.

They are an easy Christmas craft that's fun for the whole family. These ornaments make great gifts, package decoration and tree ornaments. Here's a simple list of what you need to make your own Tri Bead Candy Cane Ornaments.

Materials List for Tri Bead Candy Canes

1 Pack of 12" Chenille Stems

An assortment of Red, White, Clear & Green "Acrylic Tri Beads"

Scissors

I prefer the Darice brand of 3mm Chenille Stems. The stems also come in a wider width but those are hard to work with.

Tri Bead Candy Cane Instructions

1) Take a Chenille Stem and place one Tri Bead on the bottom. The fold the Chenille Stem over the bead to form an "end".

2) Thread more Tri Beads onto the Chenille Stem until you have the desired length.

3) Trim and fold over the Chenille Stem to form your second end.

4) Bend the finished product over on one end to form a candy cane shape.

5) Hang on tree!

2) Red, White & Green - Green Chenille Stem with Red, White, Green, Red, White, Green Bead Pattern.

3) Silver Bells - Silver Chenille Stem with Clear, White, Clear, White Bead Pattern.

    I used to make these when I was little, and we used to do something similar with lace and those mini fuzzy teddy bears. We'd weave the lace in and out of the tri-beads on the pipe cleaner, then bend it into a wreath. Hot glue a teddy bear to the center and put a little red bow on it. Super cute!
