Are you interested in learning how to make wine in your own home? Does the thought of creating your own tasty flavors of wine all by yourself excite you? How does 25 cents per bottle of high quality wine sound to ya? Well then you should probably do what I did this year and think about taking up this awesome hobby!
Earlier this year, I decided that I wanted to learn how to make my own wine. My brother got me into the idea because a few years ago, he was making his own mead in his basement (and it tasted really good!). Of course, there are a couple of hours of setup and it will require work throughout the process, but there is nothing more satisfying then taking a sip from your own homemade high quality wine! So here are a few of my tips for getting started (and one great resource).

Make Wine at Home
Where to start?
Once you have decided that you want to make your own wine, the next decision is to decide where your going to make it. As with most things, a little bit of planning won't hurt so here are some tips for you.I started out in my basement and I don't regret it at all. Now, I realize that a lot of people don't have basements and that is ok. But if you have a basement, dedicate and area of it to your wine making. If you do not have a basement, I recommend that you choose a location near your home.
The idea here is that you want to choose an area that is nearby so that you can easily watch it. When you are starting out, your first batch won't take up much space at all.
The next important step is equipment. There are a number of wine kits out there that you can choose along with articles to help people. Some people recommend to start out with a 1 gallon tank, but I suggest that you get a 5 gallon bucket. The reason for this is that a lot of wine will be used for the taste process. You will be tasting regularly to make sure that your wine batch is a good one.
There are a number of benefits you making your own wine, and I believe the number 1 benefit is the cost. You'll pay around $50 for the setup. After that, each wine bottle that you fill will have cost you around 25-50 cents each! And I guarantee you that each wine batch you create will taste as good as any $50 - $80 bottle out there.
Now, I know the advice I gave you is pretty basic, but it is also the most essential of all things to consider when starting your own homemade wine adventure. If you're serious about making wine at home, then I really suggest you head on over to my site to read a review of a guide I used that taught me How To Make Wine. It will save you a ton of money in both the upfront costs and the long term investments. The guide is written for the complete wine making novice with a lot of illustrations to help guide you along the way. So, click my link below to visit my site for more information on the guide:

What Materials Will You Need?
Probably the easiest way to get started is to purchase a kit. Now, by all means you don't have to, and if you follow the guide that I recommended above, you will learn the best equipment to buy that will last you for quite some time.More importantly than wine kits are ingredients kits. Various companies produce these kits, which will contain the fruit and juice for you already so you don't have to buy it yourself.
You can do it yourself, however, and I think it is perfectly acceptable to do so. You can produce wines from many fruits or just grapes if you wish. You can find high quality fruits readily available online. It is important to note that you want the highest of quality in fruit. Bruised fruit can cause bad flavors during the fermentation process and this is not good! It is important to use grapes specifically grown for the wine making process. Avoid the store bought grapes that look tasty.
Now onto the wine kits. There are many online retailers that sell wine kits. You can get started without spending a fortune. The guide that I recommend shows you how to setup and awesome kit for under $50. I still use this baby to this day. When you get more serious about making wine at home, it is important to invest in the more expensive equipment as your wine will more than pay for itself.
So, I hope this helped you out when making a decision. Start cheap like I did and then move on to the more expensive stuff. Who knows, you could be selling your own bottled wine at the local market and making some killer profit :)

Homemade Wine Making Ingredients
Most people think that grapes are the only fruits used for making wine. However, many other kinds of fruits make great wines. Take peaches for example. They make an excellent ingredient to any wine maker's recipe. You can use peaches all by themselves and you will have an excellent sipping wine. This is where you can start to be creative. What other types of fruits may taste great as a wine? Vegetables as well? It's your job to be creative here. Think of all of the different combination's of fruits you can use. Try to imagine the taste that these fruits would create.
Have you thought about using pears? Another great fruit that makes a delicious flavored wine. It can also be blended with many other fruits to create an intense flavor that is sure to satisfy anyone that happens to taste this goodness.
Now think of apples. How does an apple and pear combo wine sound? It is a fantastic wine that hardly anyone has ever tried! Imagine bottling a batch of this and sending it out as a gift!
It is time for you to get creative. Think up a number of different fruits for wine. I want you to make a wine from blueberries and let me know how it tastes. You'll be shocked at the result!
