How to memorize a list easily
When at school, college or work, you are often required to memorise a list of words or phrases. This can be quite difficult at first but this method makes it slightly easier to remember lists. It takes 15-25mins depending on how long your list so you have to be patient!
Step 1 - Listing
For example, say you have an English exam for which you need to memorise a number of quotes. Write them down in a list.
"sharp,strong features"
"so you forgot... crazy bastard"
"his eyes were hard and tight as wood"
"you was pokin'...nosey"
"sharp,strong features"
"so you forgot... crazy bastard"
"his eyes were hard and tight as wood"
"you was pokin'...nosey"
Step 2 - Repeat
Repeat the first quote three times out loud.
"sharp,strong features"
"sharp,strong features"
"sharp,strong features"
"sharp,strong features"
"sharp,strong features"
"sharp,strong features"
Step 3 - Repeat Again
After saying the first quote out loud three times, say the second quote out loud three times
"so you forgot... crazy bastard"
"so you forgot... crazy bastard"
"so you forgot... crazy bastard"
"so you forgot... crazy bastard"
"so you forgot... crazy bastard"
"so you forgot... crazy bastard"
Step 4 - Begin the chain
After saying the first two quotes three times, look away from the list. Say the first quote three times then the second quote three times in a row.
"sharp,strong features"
"sharp,strong features"
"sharp,strong features"
"so you forgot... crazy bastard"
"so you forgot... crazy bastard"
"so you forgot... crazy bastard"
"sharp,strong features"
"sharp,strong features"
"sharp,strong features"
"so you forgot... crazy bastard"
"so you forgot... crazy bastard"
"so you forgot... crazy bastard"
Step 5 - Repeat Again
Now look at the third quote a repeat it three times
"his eyes were hard and tight as wood"
"his eyes were hard and tight as wood"
"his eyes were hard and tight as wood"
"his eyes were hard and tight as wood"
"his eyes were hard and tight as wood"
"his eyes were hard and tight as wood"
Step 6 - Build up the chain
Now look away from the piece of paper, repeat the first quote three times, then the second quote three times and then the third quote three times. Slowly build the chain up by repeating step 5 and step 6 with the next quotes until you can repeat every quote three times in a row.
"sharp,strong features"
