How to Play Moshi Monsters

Rox are the Moshi Monster currency (or points). They can be used to buy food, clothing, furniture, and a whole bunch of other stuff for your monster. Paid members can get to more places with things to buy than people with free accounts. Without rox, you can't really do anything on moshimonsters. So, you need rox. There are two types of games you can play to earn your rox.

Puzzle Palace has fun educational and thinking games. Getting to the puzzle palace is pretty easy. In your home there is a button that says "puzzles". Click this button to get to the puzzle palace. Then select either "daily challenge" or "hall of puzzles". In the hall of puzzles there are lots of games to pick from and you can click on the title of any game you want to play. The games are picture quizzes with a question and four options. In the hall of puzzles you get 5 rox just for playing each game. Daily Challenge is a mixture of questions from different parts of the hall of puzzles, and you can only play Daily Challenge once each day. In the Daily Challenge, the number of rox you get depends on your score during the game.

To make your moshi monster happy, you can buy it food or tickle it. Buying food and feeding it to your monster won't really work that well, because you need a lot of food to make a monster happy. If you buy your monster's favorite food it will earn more happiness points when it eats it. You can find your monster's favorite food in the profile section of the left hand side bar. 

Tickling is the best way to make your monster happy, and it's really cute to watch (even mom thinks so). To tickle, click on your monster when you're in your room. It will eventually get bored of this. It will either tell you in a speech bubble, or its happiness score will begin to go down. To see your happiness score, roll your cursor over the happiness bar on left hand side bar.

Yay! You can make your monster happy. Hooray!

If you don't feed your monster, the health bar will go down. It can get pretty low, and your monster will eventually sulk and "scratch" you if you try to tickle it. So, you either think your monster is really horrible and quit playing, or you really want to make it happy. To feed your monster, you need rox. After you have rox, click on your door to get out of your room. A map wil appear. Roll your mouse over parts of the map to see where you can go. When you find the "Main Street", click that. The first shop on the street is the gross-ery store. Click on the gross-ery store. When you are in the shop, choose an item from the shelves that's not gray, and click it. Those change every 10-20 minutes. The item's information should appear.

Lets say you want to buy Essence of Blue.  It is 24 rox. Click the "buy it" button. Or, if you don't want it, click the "x" button. One cup Essence of Blue(or whatever you've bought) is now at your home. It takes a fair amount of food to fill your monster up, so be sure to buy enough. And if you buy too much, you can feed it leftovers another time. Click the picture of your home in the bottom right corner of the screen when you have bought what you want and you will return home. In the bottom right corner of your screen, there is a picture of what looks like a treasure chest. Click it. All the stuff you own is in this box, except for what you already have out in your room. There should be a picture of what you just bought. Click and drag it to your monster. Each monster type has its own eating habit, and you will see this when your monster eats the food you give it. Congratulations, you now know how to buy food!

To get clothing, go to Sludge Street, behind Main Street on the map.  Use the arrow to get all the way over to the left. There is a building with a sign saying Marketplace. Click on the building. You can now go get clothing. Each monster has its own shape. Katsuma and Poppet clothing will fit on each other. Luvli and Diavlo clothing will also fit on each other (but not on Katsuma and Poppet). Once you've got the clothing, go to the map. There is a picture of a house with washing hanging out, called the Dress up Room. Click on it. You can see all the clothing you own. If you want your monster to wear something, click it, and drag it onto your monster. Four buttons will appear with customizing options.  Play around with them. Yes! You can dress your monster!

Go to the Main Street, or Sludge Street, and shop in either Yukea, Bizarre Bazaar, or the DIY shop. You can select from furniture or decor like wallpaper, floor patterns or windows. Then go home and click on the chest where all of your stuff is stored. Pick up any furniture from the chest and drag it to the place you want it.  If you select wallpaper, floor patterns or windows, it will appear in the appropriate spots.
