How to Play Playstation Games Using Your USB Flash Drive
The Playstation or the PSone (also known as PSX) must be one of the old consoles that has the biggest library of great games. If you want to play arcade games, action games, RPGs, or strategy, there are a lot of variety that you can choose from the extensive PSX selection.
If you want to play PSX games on your USB flash drive, then you have to read this lens. Please allow me to preface the tutorial with some disclaimers:
1. I am not responsible for the damage to your PC or flash drive.
2. I will not link to any emulators or rom files that I will mention here.
3. This how to guide is meant for educational purposes only.
4. I do not promote or condone piracy.
With all of that out of the way, let us start with the guide.

A List of Portable Emulators That You Can Use
What is a Playstation emulator?
If you are not familiar with emulation or emulators then you definitely should check out Fantasy Anime or my blog, BastichOS.If you have no time to check the links above, then I will define emulators in very simple terms. An emulator is a software that mimics the way consoles like the NES, Snes, or Playstation behaves. This means that you can play console games on your PC or Mac. Cool! When you have an emulator, you need rom images of the game cart. These rom images can ISO files for cd based consoles like the Playstation. It's not hard to Google for roms or ISOs. It is also not that hard to use bittorrent to find these files.
Now that you know what an emulator is, it's time for me to list the best PSX emulator for your USB flash drive.
1. CVGS - This is a discontinued commercial emulator that has been bought by Sony. It is very fast and fairly compatible, however it can't on modern system's, unless you have the hacked version from Aldostools.
2. Emurayden - This is a mod or hack of the CVGS emulator. It is not known where this emulator came from, or at least, I can't find any information about it online. As with CVGS, this emulator is fast and compatible and can run on modern systems.
3. PSX 1.13 - A great freeware emulator that has good speed and good compatibility. The only downside with this emulator is that it will not enhance the graphics of the game (not like ePsxe) as it displays almost faithful to the real Playstation graphics.
Consensus: CVGS and Emurayden are great emulators for portable Playstation gaming on your USB stick. However, you need to mount the Playstation images in order for them to play, so this rules out the two emulators for portability. Another plus that PSX 1.13 has over the other two emulators is the fact that it can save a snapshot of the game. So for example, if you want to quit the game and you are nowhere near the save spot, just save state and return to it later.
I did not mention emulators like ePsxe or Xebra just because I have no extensive experience with the two emulators.
How to Configure PSX 1.13
It is really easy as 1, 2, 3!
First, you need to procure the Playstation BIOS and place it in the bios folder of the PSX 1.13.Second, you must have the disk image or ISO of a Playstation game.
Third, click on FILE>Configuration.
Fourth, choose the bios file location.
Fifth, create a memory card. Just name the memory card however you want. Don't worry, this is just a virtual memory card, you don't need any hardware.
Lastly, just choose FILE>Load CD images or FILE>Load Disk if you have the original Playstation cd.
That's about as easy as it can get.
