To register for your free account if you don't already have one go to kdp.amazon.com this will take you to the Amazon publishing home page and you can sign in with your own Amazon account. After signing in it will take you to a bookshelf, the bookshelf shows you all of your books weather they are in published or in draft format. To add a new title click the add a new title button and then you are taken into a page where they are going to ask you details about your book like.

Your book title ---------------
Edition number---------------enter 1 if this is your first edition
Your product description------------the description is what a customer sees when they go to amazon to shop for books. And you can add book contributors which is the author or whoever that is.
Publishing details--------eg English
Publication date-----------
Publisher name---------i.e amazon.com
ISBN----------optional. But if you do have one enter it there.

Now you'll have to identify your publishing rights. If the book is a public domain book select-----This is a public domain work. If it's not then select------This is not a public domain work and I hold the necessary publishing rights.

Add your category and upload your book cover and then identify the DRM (Digital rights management)settings. This is a way to restrict your customer from sharing your book with another user. If you want DRM select the option "Enable Digital rights management" if you don't want DRM then select "Don not enable Digital rights management.

Add Your Book Content (must be in word, HTML, ePub,Pdf, plain text or mobi pocket format). Kdp will not convert your book from word to kindle format. You can click save an continue. On next page you can identify the world wide rights if you have world wide rights to your book; if you have rights to specific territories then you can identify those countries on option ----Individual territories-select territories.

Kindle Royalty Option

Select your royalty option. You can select 70% royalty option if your book is priced between $2.99 and $9.99 but if your book is below $2.99 then select 30% royalty option. When you are ready click save and Publish. If your book is published in English it should take up to 24 hrs until then your book status will be on review on your bookshelf.
