How To Raise Your Authority as an Entrepreneur
Are You Currently in the Infant Status of Creating Your Own Online Presence?
An effective way to build your authority is to take the opportunities to share your knowledge. You can do this by being a guest speaker, contribute your content to other websites, and provide your services for free.
Guest Speaking
Many people would rather amputate a body part than speak in front of a group of people. I am humble enough to tell you that I am one of those people. I am not yet comfortable with speaking to a group over 20 people. Did you notice the word "yet"?
The only way to get over the nervousness and anxiety is to practice.
You can start small by volunteering to speak at your local chamber of commerce, workshops, networking meetings, or any type of public event to help you with getting more comfortable with public speaking.
If the thought of you speaking in pubic makes you want to pass out, do not panic. There are options available for your voice to be heard in public.
You can host a weekly podcast series and interview experts related to your industry. Interviewing experts is an easy way to earn points with your online presence, because whomever you interview already has a following.
All you have to do is ask.
The majority will most likely say yes, especially if you stress your willingness to work around their schedule.
Content Contribution
Sharing original content is an effective method to raise your authority to expert status.
You can contribute your articles to almost an unlimited resource, the internet.
There are plenty of article directories, such as ArticlesBase.com, where you can contribute your original articles. Every article you contribute will appear in the search engines. Your name displayed in the top search engines builds your credibility.
You can even contribute your articles to several business websites that encourage entrepreneurs like you, to contribute valuable content.
Choose to contribute your feedback on the blogs you regularly visit. I share my thoughts on many different blogs, so to keep me organized. I have a dedicated calendar that keeps track of where I make my contributions.
Another source to share your content and point of view is online communities. A rule of thumb is to contribute to communities that you genuinely enjoy. I am a member to a number of online communities outside of the business industry.
Sharing your content does not mean spamming the community.
That really pisses people off and they will know your motives to be in the community is to just blast their business. That will have a negative effect on building a reputable online presence.
Volunteer Your Expertise
You do not have to charge people every time they need your help. If you are truly passionate about what you do, then money will never be an issue.
Successful entrepreneurs freely give out their valuable information and do so without being concerned about charging people for sharing their expertise.
The suggestions given in this article should help you climb the online presence ladder. Raising your authority is not a challenge. You just have to be willing to step up and show the world how valuable you are.
