Easy Instructions for reading eBooks on your iPhone ...
... When They Don't Come From iBooks!
Your iPhone can be used as an eBook reader (along with everything else)! You can use iBooks, which is the eBook reading app from Apple, but there is an alternative. All you need is a free app and a place to get eBooks. There are many free classic titles available, and plenty of modern books that you can buy just like paper books. You download the eBooks to your computer and then transfer to your iPhone. It's pretty easy once you get everything set up and you understand the process, and we're going to walk you through it.

Step 1
Download Stanza Desktop
You'll need to install Stanza Desktop on your computer. This program manages the transfer of eBooks between your computer and your iPhone. Normally you can transfer files via iTunes, but iTunes won't let you transfer outside files (files that aren't mp3s, or those not purchase through iTunes).

Step 3
Get A Few eBooks
The eBook format you need is the Palm eReader format. Yeah, that sounds funny since you're using an iPhone, not a Palm. But, that's the format that is used with Stanza, and it's the best choice if you want to read any modern books that haven't expired into the public domain. It's also a really easy eBook format to work with. Even though the modern books mostly have DRM, eReader's DRM solution is a lot easier to use than others. We recommend looking through eBookMall's Palm ebook selection.
Once you have an ebook or two, you can move onto the next step.
